It's here, too, since we have tons of deer mice.
All the folks working the grain elevators though? Zero cases. Me, going into wind turbines to sanitize them after mice invade? Never so much as a sniffle. 18 years of pest control total? Perfectly fine.
... not counting my blood pressure and inflammed mysanthropy once the panic calls start...

Around here everyone typically goes $4/dozen or $5/1.5 dozen, for those times you need to speed up inventory turn over (not such an issue these days, lol).
Last I glanced at the local grocery store prices, it's about $8 for basic, large boring eggs, up to $11 for the fancier stuff.

I just ordered 125 blank one dozen large egg cartons. My hens are crankin', I'm going to need that many.
$10/dozen eggs? Hah! $4, for true free range eggs. Compared to the current cost of feed (and that's assuming it's the only thing a hen eats on any given day, so outside of winter it's actually less), plus the cost of a carton, it's a gain of ~89% per egg.

Not much more progress on hatching throughout the day today. The first chick that pipped its shell expanded the hole, but slowed down after. Perhaps it was waiting for the rest to catch up, because now they're peeping back and forth to each other constantly, and two more have pipped their shells. Tomorrow will likely be a rush of hatchings then.

I just took the egg turner carriage out of the incubator and put the eggs back in. The chicks were talking to each other and to me from inside their shells, so I guess this is go time. I can't find an explanation out there as to early hatching, but everything seems ok, so... 🤷‍♂️

One thing that I haven't seen discussed yet: green card holders that legally worked in the U.S. also have SSN's, so some part of the discrepancy might be accounted for by former residents who legally draw on SS but no longer live in the U.S. I wouldn't expect that to be anywhere near 64 million though. I suspect that the bulk of the discrepancy will turn out to be people that never existed at all.

I'm not so sure in this case, because she said over and over again that it's boarding by groups, remain seated until your group is called, group 1 is up first. These idiots all stood there for a half an hour or so hearing the announcement multiple times. I've never seen gate agents go through the line to check boarding passes before boarding begins, but maybe they need to now since folks are getting stupid, dishonest, or both.

Well, nothing noticeable in terms of political expression around the airport today.
Average intelligence appears to have taken a sharp drop though.
When the gate agent repeatedly says "boarding group one," and the long line of people who lined up early in boarding lane one just stand there staring at each other, because they're in other groups, you might be surrounded by retards.
Looks like I'm missing my connection in Denver now, too. Oh well, I need more Hyatt nights anyway. 🤷‍♂️

I think they may have a pivot.
Instead of running ads for specific products, they run ads for conditions, then throw out their logos at the end, no products mentioned. People then, maybe, talk to their doctors about what they have going on and how it came to their attention. Product reps who meet with doctors directly prep the field before the in-office discussions occur. It won't quite steer people toward their products like their ads do now, but they won't lose everything.

My new 20 gauge is finally in-hand. Turned out that my background check was one of the last ones to make it through the system before hackers took down court system computers across Washington state, which is now stopping all other background checks (on- going since just before the elections). Others are seeing their "10 day wait period" extended indefinitely.
This is going to be a lot nicer to carry in the field looking for birds than my Winchester 1200 (the one on the left).

My new shotgun has arrived at the FFL dealer I had it sent to.
Now I can't pick up my fully paid for property 'til the 16th.
10 day waiting period.

I just purchased a new 20 gauge shotgun. It was on clearance and looked to be a nice fit for my upland bird hunting (and a relief from lugging around my 49 year old Winchester 1200 12 gauge).
Since I live in the People's Republic of Washington State, despite having a concealed pistol license, I have to show proof of taking a firearms safety course within the last 5 years.
That's when the FFL I'm shipping the gun to told me that the course is online and free:

Three days and a wake-up is all that remains for the mini chickens I'm baking.
The automatic egg turner has been removed and the eggs moved into contact so they can peep their hatching plan to each other.
I didn't intend for Labor Day to be hatch day, but since it will be, how convenient! 🐓 😁
