There is a variety of misogyny that I run into a lot in the crypto community. It's very nice sounding hippie dippie misogyny and it goes like this... male leadership is simply natural, it's what we see all throughout the animal kingdom. That's just the way nature is.
Two things here:
1. This is just plain false. For example, Bonobos are one of humans closest relatives in the animal kingdom, and Bonobos are matriarchal.
2. Let's say that the animal kingdom were entirely patriarchal, do we want to be like the animals? Do we aspire to be like Chimpanzees, or do we aspire to be more enlightened creatures? And I'd argue that more enlightened creatures aren't interested in suppressing half of their species.

I think most of us know it on an intellectual level. If you’ve read a shit ton of books, if you’ve done a bunch of shrooms(so I’m told), if you’ve been to therapy, then you know…
You control nothing but yourself. You are not responsible for the behavior of others. You are not responsible for the outcome of a complex situation. The only things it makes sense to worry about are your own choices. Life is mostly just about deciding who you are and connecting with others.
We know this intellectually, but we were born in a world that sold us a very different perspective on life. One where you must feel shame if the outcome is not what you hoped. One where life is about being above others, and having more. And removing that programming from the back of your head takes years and years of work.
But everyone once in a while, I don’t just know these things, I feel them. Every once in a while I have a morning where I forget to feel shame and forget to try to be above others. And on those mornings, life really feels pretty fun.

If I ever quit tech I think I'd run one of those hippie dippie wellness retreats, but like with science. In the past ~5 years I've learned SO, SO much about the human mind, and nervous system, and psychology, and how we operate, epigenetics, and neuroplasticity, etc. and it just blows my mind how uncommon this knowledge is.
Just 5 years ago I was a very educated and intelligent person and yet was walking around all day utterly ignorant of how my own mind functions. Wild.
It bums me out how psychology and therapy are demonised. Y'all we are so ignorant. We really need to be leaning into these tools a lot more rather than shaming them.

I like this. It's not making A plan, it's making planS. And precisely because we don't know what will happen.
As this is a constant issue for me I’ve tried tackling it in many ways. It’s an uphill battle as the culture all around us tells us that there is a very specific path to follow in life, it’s our job to stay very narrowly on that path, and should we deviate, should tragedy find us and knock us off the track, well that is a shameful failure on our part. ...wow is that exhausting!
I like making AI + Photoshop images and I made these two. The first represents the narrow path. It’s a frightening and exhausting way to live. The second is the expectation of life that I’m trying to install in my head. It’s the idea that there are all kinds of possibilities all the time and it’s our job just to attempt to manage them well.

Agentic payments are so hot right now 🔥 You’ve probably heard of L402 or x402, but what are they?
I’ll explain, but first, the internet! Back in the early 90s the HTTP protocol was being built, and with that came some error codes, 404 page not found being the most famous. 💅 But, reserved for future use, is a very forgotten error code, 402 payment required. This error code has sat waiting, for decades, for its moment to shine. And now, finally, we have money truly built for online commerce, Bitcoin + Lightning ⚡
And of course agents will choose to work with money designed for them. Agents don’t have identities, they can’t open bank accounts. They aren’t so great at filling out forms on a website, but they excel at using APIs! They can crunch numbers way faster than we can and they don’t want to sit around waiting on third parties to verify payments and grant access. L402s were designed for them!
So what is an L402?
It’s an access token that includes proof of payment. An agent shows up to an API endpoint looking for some data. The service returns a token with a Lightning invoice. The agent pays that invoice, receives the preimage as proof of payment and adds that preimage to the token, making an L402. The agent then returns to the server to access the data in that API endpoint presenting the L402 to get instant access. But wait, there’s more. As this is a bearer token, an agent can also attenuate that token and sell it, or pass it along to sub-agents, etc. Lots of options. No identity needed, no need for the server to hold on to user data.
This is a protocol created by Lightning Labs in 2020.
And how does this relate to x402?
You can think of it like this, L402 is a bearer token while x402 is a process. An agent shows up to an API endpoint looking for some data. The service returns a 402 error code along with instructions for various payment methods. An agent makes a payment and a facilitator service monitors the blockchain to check for confirmations, returning data to the server when a transaction is settled. The server can now grant the agent access to the data in that API endpoint.
This is a protocol created by Coinbase in 2025.
x402 focuses more on the broader crypto ecosystem while L402 focuses on Lightning. L402 tokens were built specifically for Lightning payments but it’s theoretically possible to use L402s inside of the x402 process.

It’s one of the most consistently difficult things in my life, how on earth can someone hold the reality that this could all end at any moment, at the same time as they engage in long term planning?
Car accident, WW3 nuclear blast, stroke, etc. you just never know. And you then have to hold that knowledge while planning your kids education, deciding if now is the right time to refinance your home, making a 5 year career plan… like I just don’t think the human mind can really do that.
So in a lot of ways, you just gotta say fuck it and go for it knowing that you and everyone you know will die, but just live anyway.

It really bothers me when people say that men are protectors, not because I don’t want them to be, but because most aren’t.
I’m speaking in broad generalities here, and certainly there are exceptions, but generally, this is how it goes...
A woman spots a threat in her world, she goes to a man who is in a ‘protector’ position, a father, a brother, a husband, etc. She tells him what her concerns are. The ‘protector’ dismisses her concerns as hysteria. “You’re being paranoid”, “I’ve not seen him do that!”, “Not all men!”, “don’t be such a feminist.” And so she receives no protection. Instead she needs to arrange and manage her own protection. She forms alliances with other women. They text each other when they know they will be in the company of men they don’t feel safe with. They have code words. They share their location. They keep their phone near them waiting to go find and pick up their friend if needed. They help scheme on how to gather evidence. They are the shoulder to cry on when protection attempts have failed. And they are the support group when deciding how to manage an assault. And still, the ‘protectors’, don’t even believe them, let alone join any effort to protect.
Gents, if you consider yourself a protector, if that is something you wish to be, I love that, I support that. Just please fucking do it! Please actually do the protecting. The women are exhausted with doing all the protecting. They could use your help!

I woke up this morning thinking about interventionist wars. I know, so relaxing!
Maduro is a bad dude, Khamenei was a monster. These people were destroying their own countries. But will our taking them out help at all? I hope so, but I really don’t think so. If the US hadn’t invaded Afghanistan in 2001 would the women there be better off today? Not sure, but it would be hard for them to be worse off!
And then I got to thinking about aliens. It’s my personal guess that they do exist and have been here to visit and, assuming they are a more advanced civilization, I always wonder… why don’t they help us?!?! But now I see. If they took out Trump, or Putin, or Kim Jong Un, would we really be better off in 20 years? No, highly unlikely. Because the leaders that we have are a result of our own issues.
Our horrific leaders are a symptom of our own lack of maturity. If we don’t get better as a species we will just put another psychopath in power.
So really, in a lot of ways, if you want to make the world a better place it’s probably a far better idea to be a therapist than it is to be a political revolutionary.

Just watched a disturbing video on Instagram. It's a dude explaining how Epstein trapped people and how some of his friends almost got trapped. he describes a situation where a business man goes to meet with Epstein looking for investment and after the meeting Epstein say 'hey I'm about to get a massage would you like to join me?' and the masseuse is an attractive young woman and during the massage she then gives dude a hand job and dude doesn't realize that the masseuse is 17 & there are cameras in the room. Boom, he got you!
Do you see the problem here? This guy presents this situation as if it's just a freak accident that anyone could fall into. Like a car accident, just a sad unfortunate situation. And he completely glosses over, and just assumes that all middle aged business men are quite happy to accept a hand job from a woman young enough to be their daughter.
And who the fuck actually does that? Who just has such low moral standards that with out even thinking about it they cheat on a significant other, and with someone young enough to be their child?
No way bro. That's no accident. If you got caught by that you 100% deserved it!

Don’t let Bitcoin be co-opted. And no I’m not talking about some BIP, or filter, or fork, I’m talking about authoritarianism.
...and how fucked up is that? To have to tell Bitcoiners of all people to reject authoritarian values!
But it makes perfect sense, especially after having digested recent world news, Epstein files, etc. My number one take away from what we’ve learned from the files is that evil people, and by that I mean psychopaths, etc. will attempt to co-opt and control whatever they can. Bitcoin tech, as it currently exists, can not be controlled, but the humans working with this tech sure can.
What are your values? What drew you to Bitcoin?
Years ago when I was studying economics and monetary theory I realized what a massive force for the centralization of power fiat money is. I wanted better money that didn’t centralize power. I wanted money that democratized power. I did, and still do love Bitcoin because it is freedom tech. And that’s the important part there, concentrations of power are the antithesis of freedom. I saw that then, and now it just burns a hole in me every morning when I wake up and remember the dystopian nightmare we are living in.
We can see from recent news that those who wish to put their boot of oppression on the world don’t try to outright, openly suppress others, instead they slowly take over, compromising influential people, they co-opt. And whether it’s intentional or a by-product of efforts elsewhere, this is what’s been happening to the public facing culture of Bitcoin.
With hindsight I can see that I started to encounter authoritarianism in Bitcoin way back in 2018, but it presented to me in the form of misogyny. And this makes perfect sense, misogyny is just an intimate form of authoritarianism. It’s just a component in the “dominance hierarchy”. When you value hierarchy and status, when you aspire to be above others, and when violence is justified in this effort, well, women are some of the first targets for suppression.
It’s so widespread in the Bitcoin influencer crew that I can turn it into a fun game. I can pick out one of these authoritarian people when at some speakers' dinner, go up to them, launch into an anti authoritarian rant, and they just can’t help but tell me why I should go home and obey my husband. Like for reals, it’s so predictable. Let's play this game together next time we're at a conference. We can place bets. I’m going to clean you out!
But what is very important to note here is that these people really are not representations of Bitcoiners at large. They are just the crazy loudmouth infestation that claim to speak for everyone else that every movement suffers from. When I go to smaller events, when I’m around non-American Bitcoiners, we commiserate about how atrocious these influencers are. The values of these loudmouth influencers are not the values of Bitcoiners at large. Most Bitcoiners are very decent people. Freedom loving people. And by that I mean people that want freedom not just for themselves, but for the world.
And that makes perfect sense. The vast majority of people in the Bitcoin world came here because we value freedom and see Bitcoin as freedom tech. For most of us, we saw how fiat money was a concentration of power that is very abused, used to fund wars, used to further inequality in the world, etc. And we came here to work on this tech to remove that co-opted concentration of power. We don’t value being ‘above’ others. We don’t value wearing the boot of oppression.
“Dominance hierarchy”, “status”, “citadels”, “have fun staying poor”, “women need to submit to the leadership of their husband”, etc. these things are a reflection of poor values. These things are a reflection of not valuing human freedom. These are the values of people that are not freedom loving.
A small, but steady, percentage of humanity are “evil”, or more technically speaking, psychopaths and sociopaths. That by itself is bad, but what really turns this reality into atrocities is when all of us who do possess empathy and solid values allow ourselves to get caught up in these ugly mindsets. These psychopaths can’t rule the world if we just stop following them.
You don’t have to try to change them. Just hit the unfollow button and let them be the crazy guy rambling around the town square shouting insanity while we all just carry on having lunch with our friends.
Because again most humans are very decent people who want to do good in the world. Most Bitcoiners are freedom loving people who want to build, use, and support freedom tech. We just need to hold on to that. We need to know our values and not allow ourselves to get caught up in the us vs them hatred that will be used as excuses to compromise our values.
Your values aren’t your values if you only follow them on good days. Don’t get co-opted.

Y’all, I’ve made a big discovery, and a lot of you are going to hate me for it. It’s something I’ve been pondering for years and the more I look at it the more obvious it is. I’ve discovered what’s wrong with humanity. I’ve discovered whats holding us back for achieving the Star Trek future. I’ve discovered what fuels the wars and the atrocities and the pedos, all the ugly...
Hierarchy. It’s our reverence for hierarchy. We can’t have nice things until we move past hierarchy.
This feels like a monumental discovery on my part, but it turns out I’m certainly not the first to have thought of this… it’s actually pretty well know. There is even a whole series of SciFi books written about this!
Now, before you get your boxers in a twist, hear me out.
There are times and places where decision trees make sense. There are many times and places where there is a particular person who is going to have to make a big decision on behalf of a larger structure. That is true, but what I’m talking about here is a hierarchical mindset. An unfortunate way of viewing the world. And in general larger structures are the result of hierarchical thinking, and don’t do very well. Lean flatter teams do better.
And now let’s look at the bigger picture. Anywhere that you find abuse you find hierarchy. Sexism, racism, nationalism, these are all the result of hierarchical mindsets. One of my all time favorite quotes is about racism and goes “people who are genuinely racist generally are so because they don’t have a better reason to like themselves.” You see that? If they can be above, they can have a reason to like themselves. At least they aren’t a low as ...fill in the blank.
We can see how this very much applies to sexism. Hierarchy is the foundation of patriarchy. It’s the top men → then the pleb men → then the women → and last the children. And the pleb men are satiated by at least being above the women. And this is why the red pill crew leans in so hard to hierarchy.
And it’s just not good for us. It’s not even good for animals. In animal troupes the more the hierarchy the more the stress hormones and the shorter the life span. This structure robs us of individuality, it makes us a slave to the structure. No time for personal discovery and exploration, just get to the top!
The drive to the top and our valuing of being ‘at the top’ is what causes autocracies, from Mexican cartels to the Epstein class. People commit atrocities as they tell themselves this is what is necessary to be above others. ...it’s just the harsh truth of life, ya?
You can’t feel safe around someone with a hierarchical mindset. You know that they are just waiting for their opportunity to ‘dominate’ you. Men do tend to lean into this more, that’s due both to our lingering patriarchal culture and biology. Violently enforced hierarchy’s tend to suit men better as men in general have a physical advantage. In a world ruled by violence, the most violent will rule.
But no this certainly isn’t a gendered issue. Humans, all of us, are half angel and half Chimpanzee. And we get to chose, each of us as individuals, get to chose which side we lean into. Dominance or co-operation?
So, which way human civilization?

When we get eye witness statements that make intense accusations, we often respond with “well they must be crazy.” And certainly those who are mentally ill will say some wild, wild stuff! But we need to be very careful not to dismiss people even when what we are hearing breaks our current understanding of reality. Yes simple insanity is always a possibility, but also, it’s always possible that reality is stranger than we realized. An example…
In May 2018, Jonathan Oddi was arrested after firing shots inside the lobby of the Trump National Doral Golf Club in Miami, carrying an American flag and ranting at police. During his arrest and interrogation, Oddi claimed that P Diddy had hired him as a “sex slave”, saying he had sex with both Diddy and Cassie. At the time he was dismissed as rambling and not credible. His statements were outside the commonly accepted norm. Sex parties with celebrities? Clearly just a crazy man!
Fast forward to 2025, at Diddy’s trial, Cassie testified that indeed Diddy hired male sex workers and did hire Oddi.
Sometimes reality is just really fucking weird!

Well for the past ~10 years I noticed so many celebrities opening foundations etc to combat human trafficking. I dismissed that as just the next craze. I did not perceive there to be a real issue there. But now, with the Epstein files etc, it would seem that there is a very real issue there. And what's more, these people probably saw it with their own eyes and this was likely the only thing they felt they could do to help it.
Also I first heard about Bitcoin in 2011 but totally dismissed it then. It took me a year to warm up to it.

I am rather annoyed this morning that I get no kinda credit for being really fucking right about quite a lot of things. Y’all should be calling me Nostradamus instead of giving me shit.
Let’s have a quick review…
November 15, 2012 was the day when I knew Bitcoin would be a thing. That was SOO weird back then that for years I only ever told two people about it. And now, well now it’s obvious.
Anti-inflammatory diets. In 2014 I had recently been diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis, an incurable autoimmune condition. I was very ill. So weak that some days I couldn’t stand up. One time I passed out on the living room floor. I of course went to all the doctors. “this is all we can do for you, go home and make the most of your life with this condition” was what I was often told. One time I went to see an immune system specialist and brought a stack of research papers about autoimmunity. He didn’t even look at them and literally told me “you read too much.”
I did my own research. I discovered AIP, the Autoimmune Protocol Diet. It made sense to me, I decided to try it. 100% of the IRL people I talked to about it tried to dissuade me. They told me it was false hope and I’d just be wasting money. I did it anyhow. After 6 months I felt like a real person again. After a year I was back to work full time as a software developer.
Do you see that? I have the life that I have now because I am willing to see things that others aren’t. And right now, go ask Google or an LLM if an anti-inflammatory diet can improve an autoimmune condition. It will tell you yes. Now, just 12 yrs later, this is common knowledge.
Mass surveillance. 20 years ago people would look at you like you had two heads if you told them that the government is doing mass surveillance on it’s own citizens. And now, once again, it’s common knowledge. The Edward Snowden story was riveting, but to me, not at all surprising.
I don’t get things right because I’m smarter, I get things right because I’m weirder. I never found a sense of identity with a particular group or view of the world. And so my brain doesn’t have the same filters. The ‘norm’ has such intense weight and momentum that it will hold us down without a dramatic shake up. Please see that.

My sister has this unpleasant story about our childhood. I always dismissed the story. That's too wild. I was there? How could I not remember a thing like that?!?
Well, a few years ago I was working my way through a stack of old family photos and found a photo of the incident she described, as she described it.... And I'm in the photo. To this day I have zero memory of it. I would have been about 12 at the time. Mid day, fully sober.

So Tennessee has a near-total abortion ban that does not include exceptions for pregnancies resulting from rape or incest. And now lawmakers in the Tennessee Legislature are proposing changes to the state’s criminal code that would treat most abortions as homicide which could carry a death penalty.
So, perhaps in our near future, get raped in Tennessee, get an abortion, get put to death.

So let’s start at the top. Clearly Epstein was running a child trafficking ring and we also have very clear evidence that child torture was also happening. Link one.
Was this one crazed man? No, this was a ring of the most powerful people in the world. We have very clear evidence that the following people had very close ties to Epstein, ran in the same circles, and in many cases we also have evidence of them committing the same crimes.
Bill Gates, Prince Andrew, Peter Mandelson(UK politician), Casey Wasserman(Hollywood agent), Les Wexner(billionaire), Jean-Luc Brunel(modeling agent), Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem(Emirati business leader), Miroslav Lajcak(Slovak diplomat), Hind Al-Owais(Emirate diplomat), Steven Tisch(Film executive), Kathryn Ruemmler(Former White House Counsel), and many, many more. And we can all see that many, many more offenders have been redacted.
I was careful in the above list to include people not just mentioned or people that were only distantly in contact with Epstein. I included only people who had very close ties or who are directly implicated in crimes. Please fact check me.
So now we have established a child trafficking ring, and a very broad circle of the most powerful people in the world, and very, very likely an even broader network of people that are powerful enough to have their names redacted.
Now on to the cannibalism. And I’m sorry, this is the part that will give you the PTSD. There is a wide variety of evidence here and from other sources that all very strongly point in this direction, but I’ll give you just one thread that I can easily prove with links directly to the DOJ website.
First, we have FBI agents discussing a report of an eyewitness account of babies being sacrificed on a boat and their intestines being eaten. It’s believed this report is from 2000 before any of this was in the headlines. Link Two.
Now one person’s report is not bullet proof evidence. Well to corroborate it we also have an email thread where Epstein and redacted are discussing ...well the email is titled “Re: Cream cheese baby”. One line from the thread reads, “Lol, I don't know if cream cheese and baby are on the same level.” Link Three.
Okay, so if they are eating babies, where do they get these babies from? Now there are so many answers to that, but one really heartbreaking example is encoded diary of a teenage girl who was being used as an incubator. She was raped, impregnated, forced to give birth, and her babies taken. The encoding is simple, the letters in the word are just stacked. You need to read top to bottom two letters at a time. And now on to Trump. Has he been exonerated? Has he been implicated? Well, what is very certain is that in the files there are numerous eye witness accounts of him committing some of the worst crimes imaginable. Is that just a political smear attempt? That’s always possible, but that smear attempt would had to have stared decades ago.
What is without a doubt true now is that Trump is standing in the way of justice. He is not draining the swamp, he is at the very least protecting it, and likely even a part of it himself. On that one we all got played. ...or most of us anyhow. I never had any respect for Trump, but I was hoping for some swamp draining. Bummer.
For evidence of Trumps attempts to cover this up, you only need to look at his own words over the past few years. Remember when he told us all that the files were a hoax? That they didn’t exist? That there wasn’t any evidence of trafficking or a client list? And did you hear him tell us to “move on”?
It’s really difficult and shitty to look this one in the eye. The world is being manipulated by a group of murderous, pedophilic, cannibals.

That would have to be a pretty intense situation. Humans are not wired for hurting one another. We do feel bad about it and suffer for it, and generally want to stop creating hurt. I think this mutually assured destruction has to be in place for this structure to last very long.

Ahh conspiracy theories. One of the best argument against them is the classic meme/joke “My gut is that most conspiracy theorists have never been project managers. Their optimism is adorable.” And it’s a good point. How on earth could you pull off some massive project like that and not have anyone rat you out? Well, it’s looking like ‘transgressions’, and networks of transgressors, might be the answer.
Here is the theory. I imagine this could start off with at little as two people. The theory is horrific, but simple. They both ‘transgress’, together. They do something truly awful. So awful that they would surely be destroyed by anyone who found out. Now because they have done this together it is a case of mutually assured destruction. They will not rat the other out because surely they will suffer the same punishment.
Then they slowing gather more people into their group. They can attract people if they are in positions of power. Celebrities, CEO’s, Politicians, etc. They go and find those looking to ‘sell their soul’ for fame and fortune. And on unfortunately, there isn’t a shortage of those types of people. They pursue people who are also currently in or trying to be in positions of power. After some time they get a network that spans all kinds of industries. Law enforcement, journalism, academia, media, politics, entertainment, etc.
Once this network of mutually assured destruction is in place, everyone has all the incentive to keep it hidden. With such a powerful bond and incentive to support one another, they can pull off some wild stuff.
Now there will always be someone who will ‘rat them out’. Some low level worker who saw something, someone who was victimized by a member of the group, etc. However, if you have a large and powerful enough network, those whistle blowers will get dismissed as crazy. The police will decline to launch an investigation. The media will deride the accuser, accuse them of just looking for money. The accused will hangout with celebrities. Journalistic reports will get squashed by editors.
Also, our own psychology will prevent us from seeing the truth. No one wants to believe that the world is being manipulated by a ring of pedo cannibals. That’s just a horrible realization. And unless the evidence slaps us in the face, we will dismiss it simply for our own comfort.
And that’s how it happens. I’m sorry. Sometimes reality really sucks.

I’ve spend more than 3 decades of my life working really hard to get the people in my life to care about others. I’ve spend countless hours trying to figure out how to explain, how to describe, how to present data in such a way that it will get certain people to see and connect with the experiences of others.
I failed.
You can not make someone be a caring person.
All you can do is protect yourself and your space and chose to give your time and attention to those who are willing to be caring people. And just work hard on being a caring person yourself.

If you’re a dude who thinks of himself as a protector, that’s awesome, I fully support that. ...but what kind of protecting do you actually do?
I think a lot of “protectors” just periodically go to the gym and then decide that if they should ever witness a man violently attacking a woman right in front of them that they would intervene. What is certainly something, but that is very unlikely to actually happen. That’s not how predators function. If this is the only way in which you protect, you are very unlikely to ever do any actual protecting.
Predatory men are not cavemen, they are just as smart and calculating as you and me. To do real protecting, you need to keep an eye out for the types of assault that are very common.
First, Predators prey on women when they are alone. You probably don’t understand how common street harassment, groping, and SA is because it never happens right in front of you. Again, these predators aren’t dumb. They rarely do this in front of other men. They wait until a woman is walking alone, or is somehow secluded and in a vulnerable moment.
Second, predators don’t defend themselves with their fists, they defend themselves with public perception. “But he didn’t do that to me.”, “But he’s a pillar of the community.”, “but he’s a hard working guy.”, “but he’s a sophisticated business man!”, “it’s just a he said she said situation.” Serial predators will work very hard on their public perception so that their accusers will not be believed. Again, these are not simpletons, they are smart, they know what they are doing.
If you want to actually protect, protect the perception of women in the world. Protect societal respect for women. Protect women’s rights and women’s autonomy. Protect proper processes and real justice.
Object when your friend makes a rape joke. Speak about women like they are real, complete human beings. Don’t default to believing the man when an assault is reported, default to demanding a full investigation. Keep your eyes out for men expressing predatory views. Warn your female friends. Walk with them.
