rooms on matrix arent centralised, they are hosted on all servers that have a user in the room so if the server the room was created on goes down, other users in the room on other HS's can still talk just fine :)

dendrite doesnt have any full time devs assigned to it, so essentially dead, continuwuity is a great HS implementation forked from conduwuit which is dead which was forked from conduit

policy servers are able to block media they arent fully able to be used by anyone but m.org uses them to fully block media being sent in their rooms and then block the user from sending any messages for abit after I know https://github.com/maunium/meowlnir had some work done in relation to them but I cant find any info on how to use that in the docs so probably not usable in prod yet but eventually hopefully

its gotten alot better over the years, still not perfect but the amount of UTD's I see has gone down alot

musk is a asshole for sure, but capitalism defiantly enables him to be more in our faces and do more harmful things, so its one of those things where I wonder if I would even know who he was if the world wasnt a capitalistic hellhole
