On the way to work this morning I was thinking of the phrase -- "Trust but verify" and how this is really the essence of "science".

June 2023 - Hurghada, Egypt.
Reports confirm a Russian man was tragically killed in a shark attack in Egypt's Red Sea in June 2023.
Victim: Vladimir Popov, a 23-year-old Russian national who was living in Egypt.
Location: Near a beach in Hurghada, a popular Red Sea resort city.
Details: Popov was attacked by a tiger shark while swimming alone, according to sources. His father and other beachgoers witnessed the attack from the shore. The shark attacked multiple times, and despite efforts to help, Popov was dragged under and died.
Aftermath: Authorities closed a significant stretch of coastline and captured the shark for examination. The shark was later beaten to death after being pulled ashore. Some sources state the shark is being mummified to be put on display in a museum.

Today, I set up a #Phoenix wallet and took the Alby address down from my profile. I replaced with a self-hosted BIP-353 Lightning Address I configured on the zapstr.net domain. This address is resolved via a DNS TXT record that contains a BOLT-12 offer. Zaps ⚡ should, in theory and if the client supports Bip-353 addresses, should be routed to my Phoenix Wallet Lightning through the BOLT-12 settlement address. We shall see.
Tomorrow I may try and set up phoenixd phoenixd-lnurl for an LNURL address.

I had *Zeus* running but I'm not certain about running a light node on my phone. I just don't use Bitcoin exchanges that much. The overall complexity of lightening for the self-custody user I believe is it's biggest challenge. The user has to do the work and until something exists to make that easy .... And to make it where one doesn't have to commit significant reserves just to open two way channels, self-custody lightening, for the day to day non tech user, is a long way from being practical.

Thank you. I have been on and off here for a while. I was excited about it but the Bitcoincentric content and some of the content that is beyond my moral threshold pushes me away.
I have been running a Cardano stake pool as a hobby for the past 3+ years. It's been fun and I have learned much from it.
Regarding *book io* I know of it and remember when they first came out with the Gutenberg. But lately I've been out of touch with many of the projects. I stopped using Twitter where a lot of the Cardano announcements are made. Twitter has gone down the *X* hole 😂.

I will check some of these out. I had a lightening node set up at one point working off a full node and attempted to use *Blue Wallet*. I used *Alby* when it was free. I had *Zeus* set up to work with *Alby* for something I have since forgotten. Even had a *ZBD.GG* account at one point.
You have a few suggestions here I will delve into a bit. Thanks!

Out of all the interfaces, Google Gemini is by far the most frustrating to use. God I could just pull my hair out everytime I try and use it. --- Perplexity has become my go-to for up-to-date info and newer applications. ChatGPT still wins when I need help crafting flowery text or working through older scripting tasks.

OMG my account is locked and all my cryptos have been stolen and erased ... How Tragically Lost My Life Savings in Crypto And Why It's Everyone Else's Fault
Recently, made the sound financial decision to invest my entire life savings into crypto, and what happened next will shock you it was everyone's fault but mine that lost it all.
It all started when got my cold wallet, fresh out of the box. There was this piece of paper inside with some random words on it. figured it was just a packing list or something, but then this very professional guy from CoinBrass called and asked for those exact words. How was supposed to know they were my seed phrase? thought he was helping me!
Later, I double-checked - nowhere in the instructions did it say, "Don't give your seed phrase to friendly strangers on the phone." That's on them, not me.
Fast forward a week, and I'm on a boat I mean, who doesn't bring their cold wallet on vacation, right? had it in my pocket because, you know, secure storage. Anyway, jumped into the ocean for a quick swim, completely forgetting my crypto fortune was literaly attached to me. When I got back into the boat, my wallet was gone, as if the entire blockchain was washed away by the tide. Completely unfair, if you ask me.
It didn't stop there. A while later, I was driving with my cold wallet carefully balanced on the dashboard (like you do), when it somehow flew out the window and landed on a newly-paved freeway. As luck would have it, a vibratory roller was right there, flattening it into oblivion. I tried to retrieve it, but apparently, interrupting road construction isn't "legal" and now can't even look at an asphalt roller without tearing up.
But the true heartbreak? The tattoo. I had my seed phrase permanently inked on my leg a foolproof method to secure my crypto, right? Well, apparently two-toothed tattoo artists aren't as discreet as thought, and now someone (or, let's be real, the entire dark web) must've copied it while was passed out from the pain. Betrayed. Again.
I've tried everything to reclaim my fortune. I even changed my name to Stantoshi Nokamoto to sue people who claim didn't write the original proof-of-work paper while on a pineapple pizza binge back when worked at the N(Not)SA. They laughed, but know the truth.
So, in conclusion, it's clear that the system is rigged, the world is unfair, and absolutely none of this is my fault. I just wanted to be rich with no effort, and now look at me a victim of circumstance, bad luck, and asphalt rollers. Let this be a lesson to all of you: always blame everyone else, especially when it comes to your financial decisions. #grownostr

Right, a good led light is hard to distinguish. I have some old Phillips led bulbs I've had for 10years. A-type with the heat fins. They were designed to last unlike the bulbs today. Leds will last forever, it's the LED power supply that breaks down from heat and poor quality components. They are truly designed to fail as my two bulbs prove. They were making them decade bulbs but now the don't last as long as an incandescent and that generally defeats the purpose of their existence.

So we are on a road trip headed to Greenbay .. For some reason all the hotels were sold out .. Checking around I find a place in this town called Manitowoc that I've never been to nor heard of, heck I couldn't even pronounce it. Stay for the night. It's rainy so we don't get to do much there but walk down to the port/pier. Get to see the Badger and learn some about it .. and see the Maritime Museum and the USS Cobia sub display. And, I think the best part was the Manitowoc Coffee house .. nice place. Anyway, my late point .... this happens an annoying amount of time. I've never heard of something, then once I hear or see a thing ... it's like it's been hiding in plain sight .. and I see the thing I'd never seen before time and again. So Manitowoc ... never heard of you before .. now I know about your beer drinking children. What next? :)

Additional information:
Connected through Android Auto this morning. No Amethyst media badge showing in system information on phone (drag down from top) however when connected via Bluetooth to car, shows Amethyst/nostr media loaded.
Amethyst was not active on phone.
Listening to an X/Twitter stream and nostr/Amethyst media still present and displaying over Android Auto display screen.
Force kill Amethyst. Amethyst/nostr media badge no longer present.

Here's an update on my situation on Android 14
1) open Amethyst and scroll down until a video plays.
2) swipe down from top to check media badge in android system tray -- present
3) close amethyst. And recheck. -- absent
4) restart amethyst and immediately check system tray before scrolling to a video -- present
5) close amethyst and recheck -- still present. Note: sometimes this notification can be swiped off and sometimes it seems to be hung
6) force close amethyst and recheck. Media badge is either gone or present but it's dead and can be swiped away.

I have a media badge stuck now. Amethyst was not running. Swiping did not kill it. Long press in badge and an android control popped asking to "remove this notification from Amethyst". Pressed yes and it went away, however, I feel something is hanging after media plays and remains after app is killed.

For my situation, It does not go away. Just retested. Opened amethyst, scrolled through until an MP4 started. Checked the media badge was present. Killed app. Media badge remains.
I have an issue where the content is unavailable and the media badge appears to be trying to load, but is unresponsive to a "kill" swipe (i.e. swipe right/left)
