Are any #Burners who were Nomads at #Nowhere Festival around who still have a copy of the Nomad Guide that you can share with me?
I recall that document to be an excellent source for deescalation and respectful moderation/helping on large events, and would love to crib from there for a roleplaying game convention.

better late than never indeed. And yes, this is quite the change. For, ahem, reasons, the secure existence of the state of Israel is one of the basically untouchable positions of ALL german governments since founding of the federal republic.
I can only hope that this doesn't mean that we're backtracking in general to, ahem, previous times.
(German right-wing parties have a complicated relationship with the whole issue. Which means in effect, that they can milk any outcome for their benefit: Israel wins? Shows that strongman tactics against these evil leftist terrorists were the right choice. Palestinians suffer? Shows that all prejudices against "the jews" were right after all. Palestinians gaining support - of course they deserve that, again, "the jews"!
So the whole topic is a very complicated and dangerous political minefield here in Germany, and it is truly a miracle that Merz has moved that far at all.
(Keep in mind that during the last election, Merz said he'd invite Netanyahu to Germany with assurances of safe passage, despite there being an arrest order from Den Haag that Germany is kinda required to follow)

when Google+ fizzled out, [@dredmorbius](https://toot.cat/@dredmorbius ), me and a bunch of others set out to figure out where to move. Turns out that most of the central-instance-options are gone or totally enshittified, whereas as the fediverse options are still there and thriving and actually got at least a bit better on the parts that were marked as lacking in the spreadsheet.

I have answered "use and not confused", but I should say that I am annoyed at the implementation that can be confusing. Only half the time I manage for example to get the passkey into my vaultwarden store.

I actually worked on a privacy-preserving ethical private-data-using thing for a few years - and it could've been beautiful, alas, funding.
but the core idea (store everything locally, give the end users fine-grained control over what processes can access which data how, process everything locally-only) still is valid and is now a nice little project to see whether one could (with consent!) locally capture and evaluate KDE user metrics for UX improvements.
