This is by no means the most important thing about Swift, but the fact that you do not need to use semicolons to separate statements feels liberating.

Given the current inflationary cost of Yak Shaving, I think Godot for iPad will be feature complete sometime in September/October - this is the earliest I can have useful TestFlight feedback.
Hopefully I can properly launch to the public early next year, depending on how many bugs and warts have to be fixed.

Apple trained their models to work with the AppIntents schema (this powers shortcuts and existing Siri commands), a great way of surfacing the existing capabilities of apps and extend their reach.
While Microsoft could have done this, their equivalent frameworks are just not widely used - a phenomenon caused in part by slow upgrading windows users and in part by a void in evangelism for their Windows platform.
The core product advances are left out in the cold to fend for themselves.

Godot on iPad progress.
Starting to look at replacing the Godot Text Editor with a native solution. Runestone looks great for this.
I stitched a tree-sitter package for GDScript into Runestone, and brought the Neovim syntax SCM files over and it looks like syntax highlighting and language-aware indentation work just fine.
It is magical!

The fee to sell on the AppStore is about accessing a specific marketplace. And you might be enticed to build products purely for that ecosystem.

It has always been a marketplace access fee.
That’s the principle of building malls and other commercial public spaces: they invest to create a space for people to flock into and advertise and maintain it.
