Hi folks of the fediverse! Time for a proper #introduction: I’m Alan, and I make photographs. I do other things, too: graphic design, hike and #bicycle around #Colorado, and am a dad to three great kiddos. My photography usually involves looking for beauty in the human-altered landscape.

I have spent the last month *not* using Instagram, and only using @npub1ywt…nj7r’s app to explore, enjoy, and share photos; and I have to say, it’s lovely. There are still a few glitches here and there, but @npub1q3u…r5gz is doing yeoman’s work to bring it to market in good shape. I’m really enjoying the no-algorithm, no-advertising photo stream here, and hope that someday more of my friends who have gotten used to the intrusive nature of Meta’s manipulations will join me here.
