some relay nodes seem to block UTF-8, others accept it. Seems a little odd considering that even latin alphabet languages are often UTF-8 encoded now, right?

Perhaps everyone in the network should be their own server. Maybe everything we publish lives on our own nodes and instead of sharing the original data, we only share view keys.
We can then revoke view keys. Or we can delete data and those view keys will lead to nothing.

The primary concern is not "how do I spread this message as far and wide as possible", but rather "how do I communicate with who i want to communicate, without increasing my threat vector"

We need to talk about deletes. I think most people do not want to be public figures. Most people would prefer privacy by default. The nature of a global, plaintext database that is downloadable by anyone is mortifying given the state of the world.

How to track the "seen" status on previous events? We don't want to overload a user with something they've already seen about 10 times when people "retweet".
