that was pretty much my line up on the 2020 D ticket. Biden was ahead of Bernie & I would have (reluctantly) voted for Bernie if he had been the nominee, but enthusiastically voted for Biden when he got the nomination.
It was pretty much decided by the WA primary, but I voted for Warren in the primary anyway. She would have been awesome.

I would agree that some people want this, but I think a smaller percentage that actually voted for it.
Media being what it is, added to lies told by F45, I think some will regret that choice when their soc sec checks don’t arrive, their health insurance is cancelled, & food/gas prices rise.
Not really interested in arguing semantics. It sucks & I voted for Harris. I get to suffer along with everyone else.

I’ve never had a cat flap, because Mehitabel would always want to bring “presents” inside. They had to present themselves at the door to prove there was nothing up their paws.
Meemeej would jump up on the window screens and hold on while yelling at me. I had to replace a bunch that she shredded before I moved.

And you don’t have the added protection of most children being vaccinated, to protect those with health reasons they can’t get the vaccine.
I have friends who had polio, including one who is younger than me, whose parents didn’t believe in vaccines. She spent years in the hospital from effects of polio.

For everyone who extols the virtues of “small government” we have example after example of instances like this. It would be great if these corporations could be trusted to protect the consumers, but time after time they fail to do so. THAT is why we need regulation.
It will be a miracle if we don’t have a string of product safety failures over the next 4 years.

Yes, I remember getting my polio vaccines at school. I don’t think we had measles vax yet, but smallpox & maybe diphtheria. I remember getting them at school in early 60’s

No, it helps a little, but it pisses me off that I have to suffer along with them. After Bush 2's mortgage crisis fiasco, I lost more than 75% of my annual income. Turns out when people lose their homes, they don't buy art. Since then my income has never recovered to even 50% of what I was making. social security & ACA medicaid expansion kept me from losing my house. Fuck t***P and his stupid voters.

But isn’t there something to be said for a somewhat incremental adoption of EVs for people who can? Even if only the well off adopted them, they would start to demand faster charging technology, more charging would be available, although I don’t know how you provide charging for people in large apartment buildings.
I don’t think it’s something that can happen overnight. I grew up w/leaded gas, that took years to phase out.

I read Jess Piper’s essays regularly and I am in total agreement with her on this issue. I have always felt it is my duty as a property owning taxpayer to support PUBLIC education. I do not feel like it is my responsibility to support religious schools. Parents have ALWAYS had the CHOICE to send their kids where they want. What they don’t have is the right to do is cripple public education by siphoning off $$ to do so.

They used to automatically sign up young men for the draft when they turned 18. If they could do that in the age long before widespread computer usage, they can certainly sign people up to vote.
