I'd done some experimenting with asking GPT 4 to think about ("step by step" etc) things. I've tried asking it to emit first its thoughts in one tag then its conclusions in another, and also asking just for its thoughts first, then in a second prompt asking for conclusions. Both worked pretty okay. But I'm very impressed with o1's process. It seems to have refined all that.

Is including an SSN on the resume a typical scammer thing?
And/or is “never give an SSN” your advice for all applicants so they don’t get their identity stolen by scam job postings?

Interesting. Are the resulting large numbers because the code is writing a “1” not to a Boolean indicating is_identified but a later field of the record that stores XP or gold?
I had assumed if that was happening it would be a power of 2 — but the 6502 has native BCD support and if Wizardry’s Pascal uses it, that would make sense…
