Stupid Canberra bureaucracy rant ...
- Middle kid got busted riding an e-scooter without a helmet
- Spotted by the cops.
- AFP sent infringement notice of $162
- $162 paid to Access Canberra on time
... then ...
- Overdue notice arrives, now at $199, outstanding $37
... why ...
- On July 1st levies went up by $3
- The AFP system didn't reflect this in their notice
- Access Canberra did reflect the levies
- At no point was this information provided to us
- So we now have a late penalty
- Access Canberra will not waive it because of their systems. They say the problem is with the AFP.
Me to Access Canberra person: "Thank for your efforts, and I know this isn't your fault... but this is ridiculous."

Does anyone actually walk around with a jacket on, putting their shoulders in the correct shoulder spots, but not actually putting their arms through the sleeves?
I feel this is a thing only final bosses in kung fu fighting games do, so they can throw their jacket off dramatically before the fight.

Sometimes I tell people the cat is so desperate to see me in the morning, he “pulls the door off its hinges”.
This is not true, and is a silly thing to say.
It’s a sliding door… what he actually does is pulls the door off its railing whilst trying to force it open.
