Definitely interested in supporting this, our boost meta server beta is just going live now, but we could easily build this on top of it. We're still figuring stuff out.

We just deployed our boost-meta service for Podcast Guru, the app will go into beta using it very soon. But it's a REST service where you can retrieve payment stats + TLV details via a simple GET request. I've been working in isolation too much and wasn't really aware that everyone else was trying to solve this problem too. Will consider our own API / endpoint alpha state and hopefully we'll all coalesce on a working standard.

In theory if your main enclosure is HLS -i think- it would work now, but we really need to add altEnclosure support to do it right.

Cool, Podcast Guru fully supports HLS, but not alt enclosure so we just have to make a little tweak to get it working @npub10lz…tuwr

Getting really tired of this, we can't be the only ones who suffer through it. A few podcasters out there believe that podcast apps require explicit permission to use a public RSS feed. I tried explaining to them that an RSS feed is like a website, and they are trying to say Safari wasn't given permission to load it. But there's no reasoning with them.
These particular nasties have gone so far as to try to get our app delisted from the app store.

Been working on this for quite awhile. Anyone can now sign-up to our VIP tier via Stripe on our website. Keeping the price dirt cheap for now until we are sure we have worked out all the glitches.

technically we do -try- to detect deleted content, so if a feed has an item before / after something (it has to be bracketed by later episodes) we do assume that item got deleted and we remove it from the cache, but in this case their feed only goes back to 2023, and the episode they are complaining about is from 2017! I have no technical way to purge a users cache in this case.

Thanks Adam, but the feed isn't the issue, like every other podcast app, we don't nuke content just because it's no longer in the feed, that's standard practice. They are complaining because it's still playable in the app because the user cached it (just the episode level details with the item tag) previously and they haven't bothered to take down the audio content so the play link still works.

Currently being bullied by a podcaster because an ancient episode from their podcast (that's no longer in their feed) is cached on someones phone (new subscribers won't see it), and they are trying to get Apple to boot us of the app store because of this.
On top of this (at least in their video evidence) the audio still plays because they haven't removed the content from where ever they are hosting it from.

in our case we are getting 429s when trying to pull the feeds from wavlake. Do you have a contact there? Would be nice to get an api key or something.

Our app does a backoff / retry for download issues, so I'm 99% sure it would do that in this case as well. @npub10lz…tuwr could confirm.

I've been slow to pull the trigger on this for PG because I just haven't found an ideal solution and I don't think the federated model is decentralized enough, that said I do realize perfect can be the enemy of a good.

We recently started doing this with a combination of node exporter + grafana alerts, we just have a few blanket alerts that fire when CPU / disk / etc or any resource on any server gets disturbingly high.
