I am pleased to report that I was offered the aforementioned promotion, and they agreed to my salary request. Thank you for your support the other day when I was moping and imagining an awful ending to this story!

At work I'm on the brink of getting a promotion. It's been 2 years in the making. I'm sure I'll get a raise.
But all that my mind can do is ruminate on the possibility that the pay increase will be insufficient, that I will decline the promotion, and instead give my two weeks' notice. I won't find a new job. I won't be able to pay rent. I'll lose all my belongings, become homeless and friendless and FINALLY become the unequivocal loser that I've always felt like I was.

@npub1200…aqy2 The obsession with Starbucks and similar companies has baffled me ever since I did the math and figured out that it's cheaper for me to buy locally grown coffee (here in Hawaiʻi) at $30 or $40 a pound than spend $5 or $7 a day at some shop. My #Maui grown coffee tastes like heaven! So unless I want to have some sort of coffee shop social experience, brewing my own makes the most sense by far.
(#MauiCoffeeRoastingCompany is worth patronizing!)
