9,000 Years Old Structure Under Lake Michigan
Mark Holley, at Northwestern Michigan University, first came across a rock that he said bears a prehistoric carving of a mastodon. On further investigation, he discovered a Stonehenge-like arrangement of ancient stones.
They stand 40 feet below the water’s surface, and the stones are some 9,000 years old, making this one of the oldest structures ever discovered in North America.

I grew up during the Vietnam war (-1973). I was registered for the draft when I was 17 in 1973 with a selective service system classification of 1-A (available for military service). Fortunately the war and the draft ended that year.
I considered the world one very messed up place throughout my childhood. I thought that the old people would die eventually and the world would become a better place.
I WAS WRONG. The old people did die, but they were replaced by worse.

Cradleboards are important vessels that carry Kiowa culture and generations of babies.
They were important protection for children given the Kiowa people’s nomadic lifestyle before signing the Medicine Lodge Treaty in 1867. Upon signing the treaty with the Comanche and Apache Nations, Kiowa people settled in what is now known as Oklahoma.
