Install the Alby Extension, connect an Alby Account to get started. There is no need to configure a lightning wallet. You can't receive zaps though. But signing into Nostr apps works perfectly like this.

The best routing nodes are profitable but there are also plenty that do it to help the network grow.
It is really hard to say something about liquidity and profitability because it very much depends on your focus as a node. For instance: If you become a default LSP selling channels in LSP, you'll have a constant demand of people buying channels from you. But there are also other strategies.

Alby Hub subscriptions work based on NWC. The client receives an NWC connection secret with a pay_invoice permission and sends a pay_invoice request to the wallet.

Numerous emails have been sent, announcements published and banners displayed over the last 18 months to inform users that the legacy Alby shared wallet is no longer operated. Instead users can move to Alby Hub which is a self-custodial wallet.
Hope you could be more precise in your article. Only users of the legacy wallet without any payment activity over the last 12 months are affected. User's of the Alby Hub, self-custodial wallet enjoy freedom and control.

The paid fees are visible in the blockchain explorer. There are no additional fees charged.
I expect that you opened anchor channels which require a reserve to leave room for bumping the fee of the closing transaction. The reserve is not part of the onchain/ savings balance.

If you opened the channel with your own on-chain funds, you only paid the fees for the opening transaction. You can calculate the paid fees by viewing the funding transaction on the Node page.
Own channel also require a reserve of on-chain funds to close the channel again. In Alby Hub these funds are omitted from the balance to avoid that the user spends them accidentally. If you send us an email to support@getalby.com I can research more details https://m.primal.net/MrJv.png

For now it is not possible unfortunately. For example Strike cannot send boosts or boostagrams to podcasters for value 4 value payments.
So the easiest way is to deposit sats from Strike into your Alby Hub.

The cool thing is that everybody even users of the shared wallet can keep using their Alby account and the Alby Extension for free.
We encourage everybody to take control over their bitcoin and start their own Alby Hub (getalby.com). It is easier than one might think.

Calculating lightning fees upfront is tricky. People exploited 0% reserves. That's why had to introduce it too, like many other wallets.
Let us know how much is stuck in your wallet and we'll reimburse the rest.

#albyhub (albyhub.com) solved offline receiving which is great for receiving zaps 24/7.
You can use it for free on Umbrel or Start9. You can connect your Alby account to Zeus and use Zeus to pay on the go.
