@nprofile…mcwl No global state, only ability to list/search within a certain perimeter without fetching everything. You can rebuild the index every time when you collect a list of profiles (or posts, or anything, you mentioned "forum"), but you can also bootstrap from someone else's collection (aka "index"), sync that, and build upon. If you have the same rules for inclusion / same pubsub gossip thread, you'll come to a convergence, but that's not a requirement (no consensus).
The use cases I'm interested in all need a decentralized index which we don't have yet.
I'm building one at the moment.

@nprofile…mcwl For example you have three profiles in the log (simplified version):
CIDA {name: Alice, pubkey: xxx, signature: xxx}
CIDB {name: Bob, pubkey: xxx, signature: xxx}
CIDC {name: Charlie, pubkey: xxx, signature: xxx}
Your log has a root hash and a structure, but it's essentially a list of CIDs :
CIDRoot -> [CIDA, CIDB, CIDC]
Then you need a request like "I want all the profiles with a name that start with letter A". If you have only the CIDRoot, you will have to fetch every piece of content to be sure to get all profiles matching the request.
That's why you also need a decentralized indexer.

@nprofile…mcwl Ok, but if you need to search a profil by name, you still need some kind of indexing. You can collect a list of facts in an append-only log and build your index locally (with sqlite or anything else) but in this case you need to fetch all the content to index it. That's why I'm talking about and index. A decentralized one of course.

And you can then fork the forum, remove half of its harmful content that you do not like, and keep going on this new edited version keeping the first alive and filtering new posts to the other forum to accept the post on your forked forum only if they comply with your editorial point of view. That's real decentralization ^^

@nprofile…yq4m Ce serait bien d'ajouter les `#` sur les nom de villes. Par exemple avec #Toulouse, ce post aurait plus de visibilité. De même que sur l'agenda il serait bien de pouvoir filtrer les événements par emplacement.

Ce soir, je rentre tranquille à vélo avec mon chien à côté de moi mais détaché. En bas d'une rue piétonne avec zéro personne, la police municipale sort la tête de son camion pour me demander d'attacher mon chien. Je l'attache direct et continue comme si de rien n'était, j'avais pas envie de parler à ces débiles. Il font demi tour et me coincent avec leur camion pour me forcer à m'arrêter. Contrôle d'identité, contravention. Ok.
Donc à #Toulouse il est :
- interdit d'avoir son chien détaché
- interdit de faire du vélo avec son chien en laisse
- interdit de prendre les transports en commun avec son chien
Zéro solution autre que la voiture ?
