I personally use BTC Alex have zapped me to zap other people since it seems like it lifts the mood a lot (at least for me). I really don't know what else I can do with bitcoin besides spending it either here or just letting it stay in my wallet since there aren't any shops that accept it in my area :(

While I still prefer LN and Cashu, Silent Payments surely do sound better than plain onchain zaps that are public and easily traceable. Thank you for what you're doing!

I use phoenix as like a cold (?) wallet and cashu as a wallet for like day to day spending. To be honest I think onchain can be less of a privacy nightmare considering like.. when you send onchain to phoenix, it gets swapped to LN, also onchain address itself rotates too afaik so.. I think it's fine to use it this way? I dunno, I know nothing about Bitcoin.

I'm kinda average at sewing by hand, but my last experience with a sewing machine was.. weird, lmao. But I want to get one later and try again too.
The problem with clothes I have while shopping is like, men's clothes are generally kinda boring and don't look good on me, and women's clothes are somehow very fragile so I have to pick between looking good and not having to buy new clothes for a long while.

I am not really familiar with silent payments, but they at least kinda seem to fix the "oh no I'm gonna have a bounty or my stuff is going to be tracked!" problem, no? And like, if anything people just can sweep their onchain balance to lightning anyway, even though it's not really convenient at the moment. Onchain zaps aren't bad, it's just that like always some people are gonna argue whether it's a good idea or not, and so far it looks like being able to send those without permission is an issue because of the problem I've described above (for me it looks like this, at least). So maybe (somehow) having a toggle on whether you want to receive onchain zaps or not would kind of.. calm some of the people down? I dunno.

Onchain wallet could be good, but when it's bound to nsec it kinda sucks that I have a bit of a bounty to it and everything is public. I've seen someone implement Silent Payments already, so onchain might as well be saved (I think.)

The hardest thing about lightning for me, as a normie, is having to manage channels. So far Cashu seems to get the job done though, even though it's custodial, but I guess that's a fair trade-off (?) since UX isn't as bad as plain lightning.

I just mean that for me, as a normie who doesn't know shit about Bitcoin, it's alot easier and more straightforward to use onchain zaps. I know about some of their risks, but in comparison to Lightning there's much less work from the user side involved. I will try out Lightning later and see if it is better in terms of user experience for a normie like me.

That is fair, however to me it feels too.. out of place? Like, nostr has zaps, so I would probably first try them out, and if they fail me, I will post my Monero address. So far zaps feel like a nice way to send tips, and are much more integrated into nostr than XMR, I think. I hope I make sense, since English is not my first language 😔

cock and ball torture. I'm just saying that as far as I'm aware lightning requires opening channels, which also costs money, and additional setup. Onchain zaps seem really easy to use right now, but reading those talks on how awful they are for privacy I can't really know whether they are good or no. Like, yes, my transactions are going to be traceable, and the fees are going to be high later, but at the same time they seem to be really easy to use for a normie like me.
