A question for any 19th century English lit scholars (please do boost!): when were Lord Byron's letters to his wife first published? I haven't been able to find a specific date for those yet. (I'm assuming it must have been after her death in 1860, but I could be wrong even about that vague assumption...)

More happy ink geekery! The two fountain pen inks I got for Christmas were Wearingeul Pride & Prejudice and Taccia AO. I inked them up as quickly as I could, and I adore them both. Not only are they lovely, but they flow SO well!! A total joy to write with.

Because I haven't posted enough fountain pen geekery lately... ;)
This week I added to my growing hoard of Octopus Fluids mythic sheening inks by getting Sea Serpent. I love it! Its sheen is more subtle than some of the others in that line, but in the right light it's fantastic, & it flows SO well.
(Honestly, you can't put together a whole collection of ink based on mythic creatures and NOT expect fantasy writers to leap at them! ;)

And of course we couldn't go home without a visit to the Natural History Museum. We are a paleontology-loving family! I am going to be wiped out for the next several days, but what an amazing weekend. (All but the 1st of these pics were taken by my teenager.)

Yesterday was my family's 1st-ever visit to the La Brea Tar Pits, & it was SUCH an amazing experience, but the Harlan's ground sloth was my very favorite discovery. Did you know that they were naturally armoured, with pebble-shaped bits of bones embedded in their skin? SO cool. ❤️
