but can't AryanSoldier88 just Move actor to a new server and pick a new username and dodge the block? Without something like did:plc/wench/etc how do you block the actual user and not the handle/server combo (i.e. Webfinger is a terrible identifier cuz both elements change easily over time)

Just memorize the word "Ersatzverkehr" and make sure your ears perk up every time you hear it. Pretty much any time you hear that word, you're gonna be late and if you're lucky it won't be a smelly Ersatzbus (for some reason they always smell more than regular buses)

i would add this link to the ATProto section, titled "community-made PDS explorer" to make sure that people not versed in the mechanics are more likely to realize how "all-public" ATProto is (at least to date, I know there's a conf in seattle about changing this in a month or two). there's probably a Nostr equiv but i don't know that scene as well.

I gave a talk about why "Web3 isn't really web yet" at a conference called "the Web3 Summit", which is probably of the most interest to people who work deep in the stack of actual Web technologies and find it hard to understand what is actually happening in web3 as the latter grows more inward-looking and its terminology increasingly opaque and overloaded.
