spent like half an hour trying to find these images used for the latest fila x hatsune miku collab, drawn by acubi (funny, this person draws anime girls in sneakers and cool clothes lol)
but i am either incapable of, or they just haven't been uploaded to the internet in its full resolution, only blurry promo pics

ah yes, without the context it sounds like i meant the china thing, it's because this store does say they make stuff here

2025-11-12 12:51:47 UTC

- reply

this was about the made cheaply in china stuff! lol all the big names of clothing industry source from china, it's not an indication of quality
it's just you can get cheap stuff from there too, poorly made to be as cheap as possible, so you can put a logo and pretend it's yours

2025-11-12 12:22:22 UTC

- reply

my fear is not "oh no chinese stuff", cause for example, all my sneakers are made in china, that's not the thing
that's why i said "aliexpress stuff", you know, that website you associate with cheapness, knockoffs, bootlegs, that kind of thing
my worry is that this *expensive*, unique and cool piece is just 1/4 of the price and they sewed it their logo on

2025-11-12 12:14:53 UTC

does anyone else also live in fear that the cool, made in [YOUR COUNTRY] stuff you are purchasing is actually just white label cheap aliexpress stuff or is that a me problem

yes, this is aiming for over 10,000 years
and also yes, another interpretation is to do the opposite, to not mark it
but the idea behind these reports is that, again, we have a duty to leave those marked, we don't know how a future civilization may look for places to live or explore, so we try our best to REALLY TELL THEM TO NOT GO INSIDE
it's just a different view, and it's one of many, there's no consensus

2025-09-14 12:47:05 UTC

- reply

it's actually more complicated than that
but essentially, the idea is that we, as a species, have a duty to leave those places marked, the hostile architecture is to convey that there is something man-made there, and that it's dangerous
it definitely won't stop anyone beyond a primitive species, but it's just the top of the iceberg of what they want to do, the entire structure is prepared to inform and educate, and it will get progressively more complex as you go deeper

honor saying that their device is the thinnest foldable, then when it's measured not to be, they say it's because of the protective film (outer AND inner)
...come on, you can't remove parts of the device THAT YOU SHIP and then say that makes it thicker

I've been drinking the decaf coffee, it's alright, not the same taste, and it's noticeably weaker... i might need to increase the ratio of powder to water, I'm really avoiding making it a manual process... maybe if i had a french press

2025-08-31 01:52:58 UTC

people seem really angry with lithium ion batteries, praising silicon carbon ones
i still think people are too quick to judge that, knowing the limitations of charging cycles with SiC, if you're selling a phone with many many years of support like apple, google or samsung, it makes sense you'd choose the safest option
plus i find it a little funny how battery capacity of those batteries doesn't translate that much to extra usage when compared to those mentioned, it may be that other brands are bad with optimization, but when you add like almost 2000mAh of capacity, and that isn't a very significant bump in usage hours, I'm skeptical

when thinking about those laws that really want to forbid anyone not above 18 to watch pornography
are people that shocked that teens consume porn? puberty and hormones are a thing, teens think about sex, they masturbate, they consume adult content... it's that something shocking to people?
we were all teens at once (or still are for some), it's just how things are, you are horny dammit...

i don't know if "no say" is any good when you see how a lot of online spaces are

2025-08-28 17:25:08 UTC

maybe this is a bad take, but I'm the only one who finds the way we are "protecting kids online" kind of terrifying? i mean, i know we hate all of those, but I'm talking about a specific point: privacy of the children
at least here, the "least controversial" parts of the project establish some really draconian parental control laws, to the point you can't make accounts if you are under 16 unless they're approved by a guardian
i know this is a sensitive topic, but... isn't this awful? we are institutionalizing child surveillance by the parents, and this assumes parents have good intentions
I'm sorry to tell parents that kids and teens will keep secrets from you, they're damn humans... I'm sure we can get a middle ground, no? has anyone asked teens what they think about this?

you know, when you see content (usually made by men), if they want to add a dick to a girl, they make her a futa, so she has both a vagina and a penis, alright
i think that's a bit cowardly, you give the girl a dick, and you go ALL THE WAY, you're being a coward and needing to justify yourself that she needs a pussy otherwise she ain't a woman
give her a cock, why she has a cock? is she trans? did she just have one? magic? who cares, it's your art, but go ALL THE WAY
specially cause 90% of the time it's the cock the people take most interest in, specially with the growing popularity of so-called "full package" futas, which are just trans women with a pussy at that point, since they have testicles
anyway i have too much to say about this for a normal person

2025-02-25 15:19:25 UTC

the public perception of child abuse being perpetrated by some scary stranger has done us so much harm. it shifted viligance from the actual most likely perpetrators (people close to the child, particularly family members), while we have noticed, it is so hard to undo the damage that has been done
