🪴🚫 This year #THCA was prohibited in #Sweden after being "mentioned" in 11 calls to the Swedish Poison Information Centre.
I wonder how many times #alcohol was "mentioned"?
Or water, even?
This criminalization is based on a few anecdotes, if a "mention" can even count as that.

2026-10-13 08:50:07 UTC

- reply

enig. næsten! men...
bedst at bruge en biologisk nedbrydelig kædeolie uden teflon, fx muc off.

i'm not surprised anymore.
#signal leaked my phone number, despite being set to hidden. this enabled cops to deanonymize and geolocate me by capturing the phone of someone who i never gave my phone number. great job for this app that is advertised to activist and journalists as "secure" and "private".
there are several of such number leak bugs and footgun settings:
https://github.com/signalapp/Signal-Android/issues/13824
https://github.com/signalapp/Signal-Android/issues/14222
https://www.jwz.org/blog/2017/03/signal-leaks-your-phone-number-to-everyone-in-your-contacts/
and if you have signal installed, anyone can monitor your device usage timings, even if you have no contact with them:
https://www.techradar.com/pro/security/three-billion-whatsapp-users-are-at-risk-an-expert-has-developed-a-tool-that-could-spy-on-everyone-and-you-would-never-know-about-it
also, only allowing one account makes it hard to separate different activities (family, business, activism) but makes it easier for adversaries to track users across multiple group chats.
worst of all is that because pretty much everyone now believe that "signal is safe," they'll insist that it's you who are using it wrong if you have an issue.
i think #deltachat has made more sensible decisions here by allowing multiple identities abs not demanding any private information, and also being decentralized instead of hosting it all on #amazon web services like #signal does.

whatever #signal's reasons are for badgering users for a #PIN, it's clearly a design choice they made, because other secure messengers don't do this.
and clearly this design choice has some harmful consequences, which i don't think it's fair of them to just #victimblame away.

yes, exactly: #PIN is needed to reaqcuire your account — using your #phonenumber! — because without PIN, #signal account data would be vulnerable to #SIMswapattack, right?

it kinda is an issue with #signal tho.
they've been training users to fall for re-register #scams by constantly prompting users to re-enter your #PIN (and the PIN is only necessary because phone numbers are used for sign-up).
#signal are good at #victimblaming whenever there's a security incident.

this "antizionist" rabbi #DavidPolsky all you so-called "leftists" and "antifascists" here are defending from having to hear "antisemites" yelling »free palestine« has written some amazing stuff about "the Jewish army's defensive war" on gaza. here from october 2025, enjoy:
»If, however, the Jewish army has the ability to subdue the enemy by means of starvation and dehydration, this would enable them to accomplish their military goals without risking Jewish lives. When that is the case, there is no obligation to pursue peace. [...] Should the enemy reject such peace offers, not only is it permitted to starve the population, but the Mitzvah of leaving the enemy a passage to flee also no longer applies, and thus the Jewish army may surround the locale on all sides.« https://thelehrhaus.com/timely-thoughts/the-starvation-of-gaza-a-halakhic-argument/
