Fuck everything about this. The regime needs to be ended. Would have been awesome if all the folks around helped them get in. Not arm chair quarterbacking, but I'm just sad they had to leave.

Yes, it does have android implications.
1. Open Signal.
2. Tap your profile icon.
3. Tap Notifications.
4. Under Show, select “No name or message”.
If using Molly, users can additionally enable database encryption at rest, which encrypts Signal’s local database with a separate passphrase — adding protection against on-device forensic extraction of the app’s own data.

Everyone is comparing our current "situation" with Orwell, Kafka, etc. I think Terry Gilliam's "Brazil", (which has inspiration from those previous authors). Enshittified corporatized public services, and disinformation whipping a weary public into submission. Thankfully we have folks like you as our Harry Tuttles.
