Yeah. After the rise of Sofortüberweisung (just enter your online banking login and a TAN. No phishing, we promise*) and the fall of Kwitt (send money to other Sparkasse clients only) I had lost all hope for a useful European alternative.
This is originally neither German nor American, that’s a good start.
* EU court actually forced banks to allow that as an exception, because of competition.

Oh, this isn’t another isolated project by my credit union? Maybe I’ll take a look at it this time.
Here in Germany, different banks have tried different online payment systems, some more and some less sus. They’ve all been cancelled after a few years, so I’ve stopped paying attention.

Does AWS count? If yes, then work uses Amazon *a lot*. If it doesn’t, then not at all.
AWS (and Azure) are being criticised by the workers regularly, but it’s still unrealistic that the company will phase them out anytime soon.

I’m currently watching this episode of Sci Girls, and find it very entertaining and interesting, but I’m a mid 40s enby, so I can’t say if it would be for your kids. I think it’s made more for teenagers, maybe.

This is also a great example of developer exceptionalism. Do you really think the accounter who has been concentrating on their spreadsheet likes to be interrupted? But do they complain about it on social media all the time? No, they deal with it.

Unpopular opinion: As a software developer, if you are working in a way where someone interrupting you will cause an hour of wasted time, you’re doing a bad job. [1]
Write stuff down, refactor the code so you never need to do such complicated tasks in the first place, take regular breaks. Start by doing 25/5 pomodoros, and if that makes your work harder, think about why and make the necessary changes.
When I work on complex tasks, I can still make an incremental commit every five to ten minutes, if I want to. If someone interrupts me, I need a minute to get back into it. (ADHD notwithstanding, that can make it harder on a bad brain day.)
Not saying that context switches are unproblematic, but a good setup can make them less terrible.
