Just finished listening to Mastery again. I think I last listened to it more than 5 years ago. I don’t know if I wasn’t paying attention back then or perhaps it’s just blended into all the other Robert Greene I read, but there’s a lot of detail that I was surprised to feel like I was hearing for the first time. I figured making the game loop pick left or right randomly each time would ensure that the player wasn’t simply memorizing the path. I have been thinking of game ideas. Maybe a head to head race, or a high score board where you keep going until you give up/fail and then the final score is saved to the server so promote some competition… I don’t really know what I’m doing. Just forcing myself to do something.

My kids keep asking me to work on games in Roblox Studio so I spent some time last night and this morning working on a random simple game idea I had with the help of ChatGPT.
My efforts on this project were focused on making an extremely simple Obby. In this obstacle course the player is told to go left or right. If they choose the wrong platform they start over. If they get the correct platform they can continue towards the end of the game.
I wanted to make some left/right challenges to help my kids with memorizing them so I combined all the things and now I have a game no kid would play. But it works! :) I need to continue iterating with it but I’m excited that it works. https://www.roblox.com/games/18861264552/Left-or-Right

It has the swipe to type feature just like android and also you can dictate 😊 i had an iPhone in 2010 for a year and then went to android until 2018, when I switched back at that point everything was confusing. I just googled how to do things a bit. My favorite feature on iPhone keyboard is when you press and hope the space bar to control the cursor

My kids want me to start recording our gaming sessions. The audio sucks if i record it using built in mics. I have a yeti mic to use with my computer and think I should record the audio there and screen recording on my phone then merge them later. Last time I tried this sort of thing the audio ended faster (got out of sync with the video) and messed up that plan. I’m curious how I start knowing this might be an issue. But perhaps since I last attempted this, the bugs were ironed out? I guess I should just hit record and see what happens..

I’ve been working on this new trick for a week and a half. I wanted to challenge myself to do the wrist mount magic drop thing at the very start and to get better at fitting the yo-yo through the dropped wrist mount so I started there and built the rest of the yo-yo trick combo off of that point. I still have more I want to add to this trick before I’m done with it but this is as far as I can get cleanly at the moment until I’ve got more time in practicing this part.

You know, I figure at some point in the near future ai will be used to create a machine that is able to analyze your thoughts or perhaps scan a complete copy of your brain where it could then analyze and review your memories. Another yo-yo trick from June 5th of 2020 that I liked, the starting mount was one of those spur of the moment improvisations that felt very satisfying to hit. Will need to revisit and explore the possibilities around it. Finished the combo with a backhand stall. :)

There are competitions :) I’ve only won my state contest once in 2012, otherwise I’ve competed in a lot of them in the northwest of the u.s.
