Fascinating... I remember a big push for async/await in Rust was the performance aspect (minimising any unnecessary allocations, for example).
Looking at the TechEmpower benchmarks (which, like all benchmarks is sure to have flaws), and the results are a bit eye-opening. IIRC Rust removed green threads before 1.0 over performance concerns, yet n:m virtual thread implementations score near the top in many cases.

I miss working on my keyboard layout. Was having fun trying to find the right balance between heat maps, rolling, etc.
I took a look at Canary. Wow, that's very much setup for rolling. You don't find that much rolling hard on your hands? When I used to optimise for rolling, I could only got a little while with it before my hands would start hurting.

@nprofile…5wev I haven't noticed that being particularly strong, either. Though things like ACC, benefits, and healthcare make it feel a bit more forgiving to give you time to get back up. As an American, I also think about: Te Tiriti, tall poppy, and skiving off on a nice day.

I haven't mentioned it here, yet, but in the last few weeks I:
- Swore in and got my New Zealand citizenship
- Got my New Zealand passport
- Renounced my US citizenship
Things have finally slowed down where I can just absorb all of that. Giving up my citizenship was never part of the original plan but more and more it's felt like I was never moving back, especially as I watched the US from afar the last 8 years. Was thinking about some of the trans women in tech's history this morning. This is by far definitely not an exhaustive list. They're just some trans women that made me smile to think about.
So, let's get started!
First off, a familiar name - Wendy Carlos, a composer and musician who rose to fame on Switched-On Bach, which introduce synthesizers to larger population. Of course, her fame grew as she moved on to creating soundtracks.
