ok buddy, your whole identity is being a GrapheneOS user, but this trans woman with a 5 year old instance who talked about graphene maybe twice is a troll and a sockpuppet

I claimed they were hypocrites because the only statements I could find from the official graphene team on the subject was on the page where they talk about how you can whitelist graphene.
They pointed me to a place where they did in the past say that they don't believe root based attestation provides meaningful security, so I dropped the thread, I don't think this is bad faith behavior from me.

Uninformed reply, I havent read the RFCI think if this was only used for fallback this might be ok, but I'm worried there are gonna be cases where this is the only option, and I don't think it's a good idea to force all http clients to also do DNS resolution
Also doesn't dnssec have a completely different model compared to the "standard" root ca infra? I think security people wouldn't like that

Yeah the sun is not gonna get more expensive and you can just make stuff for solar anywhere. No need to deal with any specific country/political situation

you should really talk to someone with experience on the subject.
Do not recommend deltachat over signal. Juristiction doesn't matter, deltachat is nowhere near as secure as signal

3d printing question(boost pls):
Do I invest more money into my ender 3 pro?
I have the 2020 version, with crtouch and klipper installed and I'm thinking about getting silent steppers and a enclosure for it(mainly out of fear of causing a fire).
I'm happy enough with the print quality. They could be better and there is a lot of stuff I could probably tweak, but haven't bothered to(and honestly don't have the energy for it)
The problem is that getting all these upgrades slowly exceeds buying a new second hand ender 3. Do I even bother or has 3d printer technology advanced far enough that it's worth getting a new model.
I mainly print functional stuff(parts for repairs) and don't really have interest in colored filament or similar.

Because this isn't as known as it should be: roman salutes were never a thing. Nazis just made up a salute and then said it came from Rome, because they were dweebs about ancient Romans.

I am overwhelmed by the amount of replies, so I'm going to try to address everything here.
First of all I'm sorry about the harassment from kiwifarms. I haven't heard about that but I fully believe you. I do not want to defend the microg devs in any way, the only reason I am still having this discussion is to explain myself, not them.
Second: the language I used, talking about freedom was wrong. I used freedom in the non-pragmatic extremist sense, which I actually think is quite stupid(the gnu in my display name is a joke). I'm sorry, I've edited my post to say: "It does not care about running exclusively free-software". It was a quick reply I wrote in 15 seconds without thinking, I apologize.
Third thing: Microg is less secure than Play Services
What I'm trying to argue is that microg by itself is more secure than play services. It might be less secure than your sandboxed play services, but if similar sandboxing work was done for microg the two would be more-or-less equivalent.
When I say "the statement from graphene's team" I'm referring to the only statements I could find. So:
https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/4290-sandboxed-microg/17
and
https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/4290-sandboxed-microg/10
Every single time I could find you talking about microg your statements(at least to me) feel extremely condescending and reads as a critique of microg as a whole, not just microg running on grapheneos.

again I'm not 100% confident. As far as I know from reading the microg source code the only propertiary libraries are the ones used by the client apps talking to microg, inside of the caller's sandbox

GrapheneOS only cares about security. It does not care about freedom, or anything else
I don't want this to sound judgemental, I love the concept of graphene and I would be running it if my phone was supported.
I also think that the graphene's team statement about microg is extremely harsh and makes it sound like using microg is some massive security risk. I do not feel confident enough to just say that it's not, but they haven't provided any reason. The only special privilege microg needs is for the OS to tell other apps that it's signature is the same as play services, which is trivial to implement securely. Microg doesn't require any other privileges
