In Canada most people were raised with guns used for hunting not personal protection (unless protection from wildlife, not human). The US is the only country in the world where so many people feel the need to protect themselves using guns. Killing each other is normalized.

Gun storage laws are nice but the US has an attitude problem surrounding guns. It's no longer the wild west!
Canadians have nearly as many guns per person on average and we don't see stats like this.
