Another amazing #PyconUS closes as I heard onward to Amsterdam. The Python community that comes together is a treat, and I feel profoundly lucky that it’s been my professional network for my entire career. 💗

Realized that the Django Fellow program is over 10 years old! It was a huge inspiration for the successful Python Developer in Residence program, and helped push the Django and Python ecosystems forward in an important and under-appreciated way.

I've been pondering this some lately with Write the Docs as well. It's quite difficult to hand off leadership, and there's also various aspects of it (in the WTD case, being "conference chair" for the primary conference, being "board president" for the community board (already handed off), etc.).
I think it's more difficult to build new leaders virtually. I've found a lot more success with finding folks who want to "rise up" since we've gone back in person.

Appreciate the info! I am already pretty impressed with that 3B llama model that runs pretty fast on my old M1, so definitely feels like the quality of what we can run on a 64GB machine over the next few years is gonna be pretty impressive.

Makes sense. Basically RAM limits how big of a model you can run, and GPU & memory bandwidth is limits the token/s, from what I've read?

* Google stops paying Apple & Mozilla for search
* Apple ships search (probably buys DDG or similar)
