SSL/TLS is one of the things I like dealing with the least in #devops or #sysadmin work. LetsEncrypt is cool and all but I've regularly had issues with automating it.
That's a me problem, I just wish I had a more consistent solution.

so a couple decades ago i played competitive #counterstrike (1.6 and then source). i was rodent and digits only. could not have imagined using anything else.
the last few years i have been playing #games almost exclusively with a controller (sometimes a touchscreen... gasp!). since i have a normal mouse temporarily, i thought i'd try to play a FPS game. it went incredibly poorly. i felt like a baby deer trying to stand.
it's amazing how we can adapt to things.

either there was a difficulty spike or I just haven't chosen and leveled my characters well enough but I just finished chapter 18 of #fireemblem warriors and it was a bear. 25 minutes total for that round but I did get Anna's Blessing and the Master Seal.
I should probably focus on upgrading weapons. I've used 4 master seals so far. There's two or three chapters left but maybe I should grind history mode a little bit.

currently fighting a very bizarre issue with #proxmox where the guests get terrible download speeds and a not as terrible upload speeds but the host has a full bore 10gb duplex. i'm talking like 7mbps down on the hosts and 600..ish mbps up.
if i had any hair left i'd be pulling it out...

i had a really bad #code #interview last week because i was beyond nervous. i am really bad at coding while people watch me.
i'm thinking about some exposure therapy. i might try to figure out how to livestream to #peertube or #twitch and just repeatedly do codewars or build something stupid. thinking about it makes my heart race in panic so i think it might help.

are there #markdown editors on #linux with a dark editing background that can output #pdf directly that doesn't look like hot garbage?
i am writing a lot of cover letters in #abiword and the traditional word processor flow plus the eye-searing white background is annoying. i'd also like to avoid banging out the cover letter in markdown in my text editor and then using #pandoc to convert it.
i'd like to be able to edit my doc and mash an export or save button for a PDF.

love it when #captcha fails in #firefox so i have to use #chrome. it's terrific.
i used to hear about folks having trouble on sites with firefox and i didn't start encountering it until recently this year. several sites behave oddly and captcha by way of #google almost always fails indefinitely.

i tend to learn better by reading and i don't want to fight through five minutes of WHATSUPGUYS SMASH THAT BELL PLEASE LIKE ME AND MY SPONSOR TODAY IS BUY MORE STUFF to see if i'm going to want to turn on CC and play a video muted at 2x speed so i can learn something from it.

weird take: I like #sotn and #pulstar better on my phone than I do on #ps4 or #pc. can't pinpoint why, though. I prefer #blazingstar on PC, though, so who knows.

anyone have a favorite #editor on #linux for managing a pile of #markdown? i basically need a file tree panel and tabs.
my extended brain is a directory full of markdown files that i edit with #markornotes on my phone and whip around my machines with syncthing. i've been using my code editor on the desktop but it's a bit cumbersome because my notes aren't (often) code.
super duper bonus points if it supports #todotxt syntax highlighting.
i don't need a note taking system, just an editor.

i play a lot on my pc and ps4 (i intend to jailbreak/mod the latter once it hits eol) but the only handheld i use is either my phone with emulators or my 2ds xl.
i regularly shop around for retro handhelds but just haven't been able to commit to one. they're super overwhelming and i'm not sure if i'd use it. i sold my steam deck after i took it to two countries and five states and barely used it for 10 minutes during that time. used my phone inestead

saw some #networking curriculum just now that still includes the #OSI model and manual binary/hex conversion.
maybe it's because i haven't been a pure network tech/engineer for over a decade but i can count on one hand the number of times i needed to convert binary or hex and i had a computer with me for that. i never once needed to reference the OSI model for anything.
why are these relics still drilled so hard?

after spending some time on #dynastywarriors #gundam 3, I did some research on #musou #games and stumbled across #fireemblem warriors. scooped up a copy on eBay. this is an incredible game!
I've only played part of fire emblem awakening but I recognized some of the characters. the controls work well on my #2ds xl. really enjoying it!

I'm still using my #2ds xl as my alarm clock (by way of the #nds picture clock) and I love it tons. I never had a ds but i get hints of its ui through some of the games and utils. it was aesthetically way better than the #3ds in my opinion. almost makes me want to scoop one up since I mostly use my 2ds xl for my ds carts.
in my picture rotation are a #cruzeiro flag, a screenshot of sem-strut from #raycrisis, and a zaku from the original #gundam #anime. need to add pics of the family and cats!

played a little gundam seed battle assault tonight instead of destiny. I can't tell which game I like better. I think destiny has more mobile suits and I like the shop mechanic but battle assault seems to have slightly better control? maybe it's the same but it feels different to me. wish there were an English patch for destiny either way.
played a little of the #dsiware reversi after that, failing a challenge for the first time. It's getting a bit more difficult!

i have been so busy that i haven't moved too far beyond my plan to migrate from #protonmail services over to #tuta and friends. essentially i've paid for the latter, found a third party for cloud storage, and have made zero effort beyond that.
i still need to find another vpn provider (or maybe switch it up and roll my own), add a new email address to my domain, move it, and start moving/deleting my 600ish accounts.
