@nprofile…sptn Nothing especially novel - the bolt images are currently just something I've drawn and exported to png. the label printer is a zebra which takes text instructions (ZPL) for text/shapes/monochrome images. I've started writing a small program which generates zpl for a given bolt type with the intention of being able to generate all the labels at once.

Building something that talks to dbus but using a Mac? Don’t want to install the rust toolchain and do builds on the target box?
Just run `socat TCP-LISTEN:1234,reuseaddr,fork UNIX-CLIENT:/var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket`!
dbus with UID 0 privileges available unauthenticated over the network!
You will not regret running `socat TCP-LISTEN:1234,reuseaddr,fork UNIX-CLIENT:/var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket`.

Back from #WHY2025 and reflecting. Highlights:
- Ran my first ever (oversubscribed, underplanned) workshop
- DJ press play-ed the impromptu NOC teardown party with some unhinged and extremely dubious SoundCloud donk (sorry)
- Helped out at NOC properly for the first time
- met and hung out with various excellent hacker creatures
As ever, feels like home. Our turn to host again next year ;)

Had a wonderful (extended) time running the tetrapod workshop at #why2025! Tetrapods were assembled, the karaoke bar was invaded and only one sewing machine had the magic smoke released from it.
