that's pretty much my strategy ... although I do have a few growth funds I've done very very well with... I also try not to buy any stocks that don't have a min. 2.5% Div\Yield.... I've quite a few dividend aristocrats... as well I've spread out to ETF and a number of excellent mutual funds... I've been forced to use a specific company due to my wife's employment.. she works for an investment company and it's a requirement of her job to use their brokerage. but I have some say.

I figured they were running a scam to short then change direction and sell high a day or so later... considering a 1200 point Dow swing over 2 days you can make a haul....
