I remember a story about some Forge, jo, and they wanted to federate.
Even GitLab reopened their ActivityPub issue, but progress is slow and the actual need for ForgeFed-edarion seems to be not so pressing, after all?

I agree, in addition to disabling remote search providers, one should also deactivate all featured content on the New Tab page, plus switching it in settings not to be used as new tab page, but a blank one instead.

Wait, what? I seem not to be able to believe my eyes. Is that for Firefox, the browser, or for Firefox Accounts using Firefox Sync?
It seems this doesn't apply, if one deactivates all remote search suggestion providers?

I'm seeing the same pattern in many other places as well. We have that discussion since more than a decade now.

It's remarkably simple, the whole Cartes thing. Could actually be nice to internationalise it, but no.
What a nice way to restrict the maintenance burden of FLOSS, just keeping it to a single language community:

Hab's gestern nicht mehr geschafft, als der Link noch rumging.
Jetzt steht da das Formular ist abgelaufen, obwohl auf der Webseite steht "bis 6. März".
Bin jetzt etwas ratlos, da die Meldung nicht ist: das Formular wurde geschlossen, da keine Plätze mehr verfügbar sind.
Hatte mich schon gefreut :')
Merke, dass ich richtig traurig bin, dass ich euch alle da nicht treffen kann. Viel Spaß!

The name C4 seems to be clashing with the other C4 systems architecture modelling language. Can we add or remove a word to end up with C3 or C5?
If this is Pieter Hintjens, we're in for a treat. I was always intrigued by the good writing around the #0mq community process and also the work on calling out psychopaths. https://hintjens.gitbooks.io/psychopathcode/content/

It's here for your pleasure. Or maybe you can write your own client + server that uses its simple JSON format for storage? I remember now ancient experiments of your where you tried to generalise JSON on HTTP very much like #FedWiki and @npub1v2p…tuxy did and how #Solid followed along.

I don't feel a generic rejection needs any justification. As a first, I just don't like the term.
My reasons for that can be debatable, but not the sentiment.

Nice symbol. Do you also have a proposal to replace the term Fediverse? I know many people, me included, who don't want to or cannot use it as a term in political debates, myself included.
Social Web was once one proposal, Open Socials is another. Maybe you've heard of other alternative naming that is more accessible in its name does not put the effort into a niche?

I might have been mistaken, because I'm also using Tailscale, but only the client and with Headscale server and GitLab OIDC.
So I don't need it?

I don't understand what this is used for.
What's the issue with Tailscale and Authentik and why does the example list a Mastodon account?
A little explanation could help me understand better, if I need this. What is the issue that this code resolves?
