For example Primal web is the peak of "chunks". AFAIK, it always shows you just one further level of responses, but if you want to see response to a response, you have to click again to go " further ".
Slack
- it might be just a nature that it allows just a 1-level-deep responses, and everything is then just a chronologically sorted responses to the top level note.
- On the top level note, you see "123 responses in the thread", clicking on the note loads a note specific page with the full thread of responses below.
- whenever you get tired of scrolling and reading, you just click to go back (or use keyboard shortcut), and you land back to your channel feed.
I always liked the setting when anyone is allowed to create any amount of public (ie searchable) or private channels. And then even within the channels, no matter how many participants they have, it's easy to browse the top level notes, and zoom into only the ones you care about.
Someone still might be spammy and keep responding to everything. But it's little easier to just scan and skip than in the pure chat UIs.

I think Facebook used to do the UI pretty well too. Just sometime recently they added some algo inside the threads which might be little controversial, but it's a cheaper substitute to human moderation.

Slack collapses threads similarly as Reddit. And further responses in the threads get displayed to (and notify) only the people in the thread.
Discord - every further response gets posted as "quoted noted" in the main channel.
Slack has an opt in checkmark to repost the thread response at 1st level note "to all", but it doesn't spam everyone by default.
I also prefer slack over reddit that when I click to "open the thread", it rolls up the whole thread, not just it's chunks.
On the other hand, on reddit, I prefer the unlimited, and clearly visualized nesting/forting. So that people can dive into independent rabbit holes on invividual pieces of the threads without adding noise to others.

I think it could be also the UI issue, not just the moderation.
Discord has a pretty poor threading functionality IMO. Just a one-level reply makes it more like a radio communication channel, where you have to keep saying "over", and it gets messy pretty quickly with more people trying to talk.
I think Slack is much more versatile and better suited for both conversations, and broadcasting.

Yea, fair point.
Tbh, I missed and overlooked the debit card loophole for not paying the surcharge at first. I'd word and highlight it differently.
It also caught me by surprise. The "no cash" has been spreading, but it might be one of the first surcharges on credit cards I've seen at the food trucks / breweries around here.

Below that is attached a hand written note "All credit card payments 3% surcharge will be added to all credit card transactions".
Also, the guy complimented my Bitcoin T-shirt. But said they don't accept Bitcoin. "Hopefully soon, brother".

Around here, draft beer was always $5, ever since I remember. Now, when they ask for $8, I don't even know if they are ripping me off, or giving me a deal.
Today, I saw a simple wooden "anti anxiety dog crate" on local marketplace website for $600. It felt ridicilous. But then I saw these are really going for ~$500 in bunch of other places as well.

She can download Phoenix, keep the sats there under her complete control (in self custody), and use Strike just for cashing out EUR to her local bank as needed for rent, etc.
She can also easily pay with Bitcoin directly from Phoenix wherever she finds possible, or purchase gift cards on Bitrefill for her Carrefour/Zalando/Uber/Amazon shopping. Which is generally better than going through the bank account route (less likely that she can run into any hassles of having to report the sources of income and other government nonsense)

baymard.com has some pretty epic repository of thousands of the most common design patterns. And they break them down pretty thoughtfully and in a well organized and searchable way.
They are not cheap. But probably well worth it if you're a designer.

I always wished companies would get more open and collaborative about their A/B tests, and share them for free in some standardised way.
I think that contrary to what they think, it would be a great competitive advantage for their products. Allowing anyone to see under the hood, chime in with feedback, ideas, suggest their own feature improvements...
Nostr could be an ideal platform for that, and open source contributors could be ideal target audience.
Github, but for designers & PMs (ie for anyone). Zapping the contributors would be fun too.

It's been always interesting to me that the Western movies peaked in the US in the ~50s/60s while my grandpa (and many of his peers) in Eastern Europe kept their deep fascination for the freedom adventurers on the frontier and the American Cowboy ideas for decades longer.
By now, people in the US barely know who John Wayne was, while grandpa's spamming me every other day with the reports about rewatching one of the classics on the local TV channels.
Today he watched The Train Robbers.

A killer feature for BTC wallet/account for me would be the virtual card management ala Privacy_com.
- Hot wallet w/ sats
- Unlimited number of custom capacity restricted virtual fiat cards
- Having easy control and overview of all the subscriptions
- Preserving privacy for online card payments

Relay operators can decide what content to transmit. For example, they could impose custom restrictions, or put a pay wall there to limit the spam (paid relays).
If some relays start censoring you, you can just transmit your notes through some others, or even your own ones. As long as anyone "subscribes" for reading those relays, the communication works.
