@npub1pmz…jcca It blew my mind that we considered them an ally, while also accepting refugees after Modi had thugs roaming the countryside and acting like Mexican cartels the moment they found anyone that took part in the farmer's strike, and on top of that bringing in hundreds of thousands of H-1B permatemps as our own IT sector's unemployment rate ballooned to where it was double what art history majors had. I'd say it's a schizophrenic policy but at least schizos can be entertaining to listen to sometimes.
That's not even getting into the issue with their scam operations and how they prey on some of our most vulnerable.

@npub1pmz…jcca The problem isn't the visa itself but how easy it is to defraud the system. If you close the loopholes, modernize the system, and start jailing COOs and fining companies to the point that their quarterly earnings calls sound like an Xbox Live lobby, this problem goes away tomorrow.

@npub1pmz…jcca L visas are more of a long term problem because they're a pathway to permanent residency, while H-1Bs are basically renewable temp visas.

@npub1pmz…jcca Trenton, NJ and Plano, TX lost a lot of population thanks to this
As much as Trump deserves the hate, his H-1B crackdown has been good, though before I stopped working on immigration paperwork, I noticed a lot of the imported white collar workers were moving to L-class visas instead.

"Caring is for fags" is the Gen X mantra and honestly a bigger reason why things are a mess now than the boomers. It turns out there is something worse than a generation of hedonists, and it's a generation of nihilists.
