Low time preference.
Dismiss what you want right now for what you want most.
Sounds simple. It isn't.
You see it in the snooze button. In the takeout order when you could cook. In the hour you spend scrolling instead of creating.
All of it is the same trade: present comfort over future freedom.
Most people understand this in theory. Most people still pick comfort.
I did too.
What actually changed it for me was Bitcoin.
Not the price. Not the charts. The practice of holding something through years of noise and not flinching.
That's where it stopped being a concept and started being a habit.
Low time preference isn't patience. It's deciding that future you is worth more than present you's comfort.
Still learning that. Every single dip.

I edited clips for years before anyone ever paid me for it. Just me and a timeline making short videos because I enjoyed it. No strategy, no audience, no plan. Just the work.
And looking back I think that's kind of the whole point. Find the thing you'd do even if nobody was watching (or paying). Because once you have that, everything else starts to make sense. Your decisions, your energy, where you spend your time, it all lines up.

The movement you're seeing in this video is my all time favorite movement in the sport of CrossFit. The Power Clean! Once you've figured it out, people can make this movement look sooo easy, even with a shit ton of weight added. But to get there you have to put in the reps. A lot of reps. We bitcoiners call it Proof of Work and honestly, this applies to pretty much everything.

Day 86. Vienna. Just wrapped a production shoot with one of my favorite CrossFit athletes (can't say who yet). I haven't been on a proper production set in years, so I had to step out of my comfort zone. Was I nervous? A little. Did I know I'd manage? Yeah. But that's the thing, growth happens when you do things that make you slightly uncomfortable. The shoot went great, the team was awesome, and it felt good to be back in that environment. Sometimes you just need to remind yourself what you're capable of. Step out of your comfort zone once in a while.
