Well it seems like #Spotify is the first platform I use that is becoming unusable due to AI slop. Today every second title is AI generated and it sucks to block the "artist" every time only to get another slop. I used to like the random playlists to discover new artists but this is the past. Looks like I finally have to stick to the artists I know and recommendations of people I know combined with a local library. I doubt the other platforms are any better.

So this is an inherent issue of social media, even if no one is actively abusing it. Social media is making us numb and frozen, and that is shit.
If you hear experts talking about strategies to overcome this freezing and numbness, they tell you that you should focus on two or three topics that are important to you and ignore the rest for the moment.

But let's come back to the fediverse and the CW stuff. Social media is like flooding the zone on steroids. "News" and stuff gets posted, shared, posted again with other words, and so on. It's an amplifier for an already overwhelming amount of news. This is combined with the problem that much of the shared stuff is a) noting you can act on. For example, I, as a German, can't fix the US politics; it's too fare away.

It's a tactic to overwhelm you. To make you freeze by the avalanche of competing stories you read and want to act on. And they know that many of the stories will get debunked or overturned by a court. But this is okay because they could still get their important, potentially a little less extreme stuff done without bigger protest.

Tonight, I had an interesting thought that I want to share, especially with those who don't understand the request for CWs (content warnings) for political news and stuff yet. Maybe you've already heard about the right-wing propaganda tactic of “flooding the zone with shit”. It is especially used in the US these days. For example, by the Trump administration if he sings so many executive orders that you can't keep up.

Eine Beobachtung: in letzter Zeit wird hier zunehmend mehr Zeug geboostet wo ich mir spätestens nach einem kurzen Blick in die Quelle denke: Das steht da nicht, oder die Statistik sagt nicht das was behauptet wird, etc. pp.. lesen, dann schreiben. Ich habe gesagt "und vielleicht nicht an allen Stellen". Und ja das tut weh, aber nenn mir eine Partei die Regierungspotential hat und nicht noch schlimmerem zugestimmt hätte? Und so übel ich ihnen das nehme, bin ich noch immer überzeugt, dass wenn die Grünen mehr Prozente gehabt hätten es dazu bei getragen hätte dass es weniger scheiße geworden wäre.

Ich wünsche mir das die Grünen vieles anders machen würden, aber sie machen einen Schritt nach vorne und mag er noch so klein sein und vielleicht nicht an allen Stellen. Ich wähle nicht, das meine Meinung durchgesetzt wird, ich wähle das Potential für einen Schritt und hoffe das viele Menschen ebenso dieses Potential sehen und mit jedem Menschen der dieses Potential ebenfalls sieht kann der Schritt größer werden der möglich ist.

Für mich bedeutet das meine Mitgliedschaft bei den #Gruenen und das ich die Grünen wähle, obwohl ich regelmäßig schmerzen davon bekomme. Bin ich glücklich mit den ganzen schlechten Kompromissen der letzten Jahre. Absolut nicht! Möchte ich die Politiker gerne Anschreien was ihnen einfällt? Absolut! Bin ich überzeugt, dass eine größere Beteiligung der Grünen die Politik nach meinen Werten besser macht, ja, das bin ich trotzdem.

Was mich schon wieder so unendlich schmerzt, sind die ganzen Menschen die jetzt wieder erzählen das ja niemand wählbar ist. Die ganzen Linken die das mit Inbrunst der Überzeugung erzählen. Demokratie ist immer ein Kompromiss. Demokratie ist, wenn am Ende alle ein bisschen unglücklich sind weil niemand exakt das bekommt was er möchte.
Demokratie ist aber auch Verantwortung, das zu wählen was für uns alle und nicht nur für mich, am Besten ist. Zumindest sehe ich das so.

The amount of FediFetcher instances scraping chaos.social is alarming. They all come from different Azure IPs because it's the recommended way to run it. Github reports: 1.361 deployments. We also see massive scraping from the TOR Network and scraping of RSS Feeds from SerendeputyBot. That sucks! #mastoadmin
