Could a BTCPay Server or something similar be hosted on nsite ?
We pleb still struggle to expose our self hosted BTCPay Server on Umbrel or Start9 to the clearnet, so we have to host it with Voltage or Lunanode etc...
I dream to be able to host it myself at home (securely for my LAN) and without technical burden directly link it to my website.
Still no solution for that, you have to be some kind of wizard.

It's not really trustless so far and not private enough (at all) . But it's better than custodial and remove the regulatory pressure a bit for a time.
More importantly some people don't like the Spark Entity runned by Lightspark (that all wallets are using right now), the organazation that created Spark the protocol. I don't get why they don't run their own Spark entity rather than complaining tbh.

It doesn’t contradict what I said. I said that purity is a good thing. Darthcoin always shit on me for not being pure enough and in most case he is right I don’t hide and deny it, I just try my best.
For the YakiHonne address specifically I didn’t even know, it may have change automatically when I tried the client, this profile (which is not my main profile) was initially setup with my BTCPay server address given by Voltage. I don’t receive zaps tbh, I only send them.
Also I think LN addresses should be replaced by bolt12 offers for nostr to be complete.
To finish I don’t think billions of people will ever use bitcoin at all, I hope I’m wrong. What’s 100% sure though, is that either we don’t ask for permission, or either I’m exactly right and we’ll indeed never see billions using bitcoin. If we can only scale through permissioned systems then bitcoin is useless in the first place.

You perfectly know that:
1- they could chose to make the explorer private if they wanted to
2 - people don't do tx within the Spark entity and just use it as a LN wallet. I know its still possible to find your spark adress through your LN invoice if you are technical enough. But as soon that they stop reusing address this almost stop being a concern because most of Spark txs are in fact LN swaps. So it breaks all deterministic links for an outsider.
But the main flaw come from the fact that they made the explorer public.
WoS could have also made their database public before bein on spark.
What I mean is that the problem come from a choice from this specific Spark entity not from the protocol itself.

The Bitcoin standard can't be permissioned though otherwise it's still a fiat standard.
So compromising to the extend of having to ask permission to run mints or Spark / Ark Servers is foolish.
Either these services are built by cypherpunks in a total black market style, either it's indeed useless and purist are 100% right.

I'm using alby browser remote signer with many nsec embedded in it.
And with primal destop it can get tricky because is shows you as logged with an ID while in fact you sign the event with another other nsec if you are not careful

Kind of agree but can't unsee the fact that HWs are the easiest way to reach a strong security without aquiring much knowledge first. Eventually the brave and knowledgeable bitcoiners needs liquidity to spend their sats p2p.
So the more people are onboarded thanks to easy and still secure tools, the more the "non weak" benefit from it by getting more freedom and then building even more freedome tools. It's a virtuous cicle. The network effect of Bitcoin is extremely important if we want bitcoin to work as intended (meaning end or at least shrink the State). The weak using bitcoin even for bad reasons make us way stronger.

You can use passphrases or custom derivation paths and many other tricks I guess. But it's not suited for even the average bitcoiners and doesn't remove the fact that you still increase the risk of leaking enough info for an attacker to steal your funds if your setup is not good enough. Custom setup are way less secured than standard ones for many reasons.

Can relate. We have a physical Bitcoin shop in Paris. People continue to come buy their non KYC stuff on site, or online paying in Bitcoin to have privacy (associated with locker deliveries in many European countries).
Without the awful price action having major impact so far, people don't care so much it seems.
My 2 cents is that the current global environment of governmental threat (being all bankrupt they are becoming more and more dangerous) lead people to get interested in Bitcoin to protect themselves from theft.
The price drop is also viewed more and more as an opportunity even by noobs, not as a proof that bitcoin is dead.

Yeah but their is not social consensus needed for the features mentioned above. So it may be about security even if as a non développer I’d naively expect that libraries and SDK already do the work in term of security.
And that it’s in fact just a matter of shipping the feature. I guess it’s not exactly the case obviously but it still frustrating.
We seem far from “Clawd here is the code of my wallet, add the payjoin v2 feature using the Payjoin development kit” workflow, and just double checking that all seems ok afterward.

Most people will never care about the issues bitcoiners are aware of and that bitcoin fixes. It's as often a "pareto principle issue" that will lead about 20% of people waking up and using bitcoin. The other 80% remaining will follow by mimicry because they'll have to in order to not be left behind. It's the gunpowder dilemna that Saifedean recalls regularely. Either you adopt it, either you lose. You do it because the most successfull people are doing it, and are asking to be paid in it.

Listening to many of my friends in the Bitcoin or developer space, AI is seen as a game changer that will likely leave many developers and other professions unemployed, blah blah blah.
My answer is that, at best, it’s a good productivity-enhancing tool, like many other innovations before it—nothing more.
Yet, whether I’m right or they are, I can only observe that most Bitcoin wallets still haven’t implemented Payjoin v2, Silent Payments, or a clean and user-friendly coin control feature etc...—without even mentioning Lightning capabilities (which, in most cases, is a deliberate choice ok…).
So when will we actually witness the AI revolution in the Bitcoin space as end users ? Is it already happening and I fail to see that new features are added at an increased pace ?

Not here to flex… but we landed a 900G+ difficulty hit. It was one of the Canaan Avalon Home devices we are running inside the shop to heat it during winter.

Yeah it involves many shades of custody through mints and liquid and Ark but it's the only way to go in order to scale Bitcoin without destroying it at its core.
We need a big spectrum of solutions adapted to everyone need. I don't think there will exist a perfect scaling solution one day, it's the sum of all of that small things alltogether that will achieve that.

Just received a Lightning payment from a customer on my own LN node and fresh channel spawned in under 2 minutes thanks to @nprofile…2gvy and @nprofile…q7y6 ⚡️

Franchement ça me semble très bien comme démarche.
Les Bitaxes peuvent surchauffer en été si tu les pousses un peu trop.
Si t'es bricoleur tu peux améliorer leur système de refroidissement pour éviter ça ou sinon les down-clocker (directement faisable via l'OS) un peu le temps que la vague de chaleur passe.
Autrement oui c'est stable, j'en ai un paquet qui tourne depuis des mois sans problème hors surchauffe parfois.
Après dans tous les cas ce n'est pas rentable en pool en France à cause du prix administré par nos brillantes élites de l'électricité.
Si tu solomines ça te donne une chance sur 6 millions par jour soit presque 3 tickets de lotos par jour.
Ramené sur un an ça te donne une chance sur 20000 de gagner. Autrement dit miner 1 an avec un Bitaxe Gamma revient à jouer une fois à une loterie avec une chance sur 20000 de gagner.
Voilà pour les stats. Mais la démarche me semble essentielle.
Full node à connecter à son wallet, et participation même symbolique à la décentralisation du hashrate.
D'autant plus que si quelques millions de Bitaxes sont déployés dans le monde à terme, on arriverait à choper environ 1 à 3% du hahsrate (suivant le nombre de millions) quand même ce qui est pas si anecdotique.

TapSigner /Satchips are good for the masses IMO.
Cheap and mobile compatible.
Screens are a bit of an overkilling feature and necessary only for bigger amounts.
Basically when you move your long term savings, with a private key that you will use only few times a year
