with password managers, what authentication factor is your password?
you don't know your random 30 char generated string anymore, so that becomes something you _have_
but you _know_ the master password to your password manager
and what about your account recovery codes to bypass the second factor? GitHub recommends storing them in your password manager, next to your password. It becomes the same factor...
Maybe this MFA definition doesn't greatly fit the way authentication is done in practice these days...
