Yea the size part is so personal. Re: micro USB, I forget if I bought and had to return or was just very close to buying the OG when I realized it was micro and couldn't believe it haha. I forget how much more I paid for USB C but there was no way I was going to deal with micro USB in 2025+.

I have a super light 2, and I really like it. I don't play much with a mouse anymore, but the low weight is so nice. I wish it were a little smaller like my previous G305, but the weight savings is worth the tradeoff.

I bought a third party replacement for the joycons on the original switch for that reason. The downside is I needed a new case and it took up more space in my bag.

I had this experience with a small-medium sized company. I was told I was moving forward in the interview process then got a call back from the recruiter who said they thought the company was still moving forward into new states, but they just found out that they are not. Mostly remote company, so not related to physical locations/RTO

Anyone have recommendations for smart light bulbs? I have one location that needs one but I might expand later. I'd prefer to avoid cloud connection, and I'm wondering if I need home assistant or if there is an easier way to access the bulb without the cloud?

I found Immich to be overkill for this situation. I started manually moving my photos over monthly, which gives me a chance to review and delete duplicates, etc. I also looked at an app, I think it was called photosync. It was free for syncing to a computer, but had one time payments for NAS software.

I didn't get around to posting but that's my review almost exactly. Only note I would add is that I didn't love the animation. Some instances made me think something was wrong with my settings (I had just gotten a new TV), but I noticed it across devices.

Does anyone have recommendations for a git GUI client for Linux? I really like Fork, but they don't have a Linux version, and I'm planning to try out Linux for a bit.
I mostly use it for seeing changes and staging/committing.

what are you going to use instead for gaming and development? I'm still weighing options for a system I'd like to build in the next 6 months. I'm thinking I'll dual boot windows with bazzite or some other Linux distro and see how much I can do on just the Linux side.

"Or you just want to connect to your NAS to create a backup of your camera roll." Do you have something you use for this? I'm looking at Immich and PhotoPrism/photosync, but haven't gotten them to work yet (ordered more RAM for my NAS which is below their listed minimums).

yea, I'm hoping to build a new PC this year, but I'm not sure how much this will factor into my decision. Just wanted to make sure I understand how it worked for Linux systems. I've still barely started using LLMs let alone running then locally.

another question about the ML work on Bazzite: if you are running LLMs locally are you limited to the VRAM on your GPU, or are you able to also use system RAM? I think it's the former, but wanted to see if you could confirm.

for this one, we're using it on a TV as our display for the "booth". I did pack a keyboard and mouse separately. I drove so I wasn't too space constrained.

"My gaming / ML system is a standard Bazzite" have you had any issues doing work on Bazzite? I'm hoping to build a new PC this year and considering OS options. I'll likely still dual boot with Windows, but I'm hoping to leave the windows partition only for software that doesn't work on Linux, which I'm hoping is limited.

For this issue it isn't so much NIH as I didn't want to go through the work of evaluating/managing a dependency if I didn't need to.

In my Django project, I want a single value that I can alter in the database, so that I don't have to redeploy. I added a dedicated model with https://stackoverflow.com/questions/4888159/django-models-only-permit-one-entry-in-a-model. https://github.com/jazzband/django-constance felt like overkill for one value. Any other ideas I should look into?

I'm excited by the new REPL, but isn't most of the new functionality in Django shell_plus? Is there a reason to use the new REPL if I'm already using shell_plus? I'm wondering if I'm missing something good.

Finally caught up with X-men 97. While I enjoyed it while watching it, I couldn't put my finger on why I didn't love it after I finished. After listening to https://shows.acast.com/decodingtv/episodes/ep-19-x-men-97-is-the-best-thing-marvel-has-made-since-aveng, I realized it was the pacing (which was too fast). I wish they would have given some of the plots time to breathe.
