meanwhile Bloomberg floated an article (whether remotely true is another story) about Russia's "willingness" to go back on the US $, which would be a massive blow to China's currency ambitions. Methinks there is a campaign to separate the two. But to be clear, the real target of the US is China. The attack on Venezuela to secure Venezuelan crude is an attack on the Canadian oil patch as AB bitumen is identical to VZ heavy crude. if Brits and Europeans absolutely need to visit the US, my recommendation is to fly through Canada. Yeah, you will be forced to change planes and go through 2 immigration lines, but the benefit is that Canada won't deport you to El Salvador for saying bad things about Trump. Also, from Canada, you pre-clear US customs on Canadian soil. That means if the US has a problem with you, they have to get through the RCMP first. Better yet, just visit Canada.

if you are in Ontario, start first with the Ontario MPP candidate most likely to beat the PC party and Doug Ford. Ford is likely to call an early election (timing it for winter) hoping that people won't know the difference between Federal and Provincial. Remember, it's the Provincial govt that is responsible for most of the day to day stuff that actually touches you. Think Healthcare, Education, Public Transit...and province can bypass city hall if they feel like it.

what the byelection results do show is a) the NDP is not out, but they would still be lucky to hang on to all their seats if an election happened, and b) that the Bloc is proving to be an alternative for Quebecers, and now they have leverage. In fact, both NDP and Bloc have leverage they didn't have before, which they would lose if PP won his majority. Overall, I think the LPC, NDP, and Bloc can find a lot of common ground.

problem with a short selling move is that it only works if the rest of the market panics and joins in the selling. You are essentially betting that the stock will go down in price by "selling" shares in advance with the agreement you purchase them at some point in the future. If the stock instead rises, you're the one going bankrupt.
If someone had a trillion dollars, they wouldn't care...they would either have collapsed the value of Tesla, or they'd *own* Tesla.
