@nprofile…nz6q @nprofile…0et8 year but... how do I switch out the color palett of a sprite to create more variation from the same sprite? How do I use the same animation for different models? ... I guess partially tje answer is, you don't and it's a different approach with it's own do's and don'ts. It's just that I don't know how to deal with all this and what are th. 😄
I think it's not that one is basically more easier than the other and some day I will probably get my feed wet in 2D

My short summary:
* USA developed the idea of them having to lead the "new word" and keep Europeans out of their sphere of influence.
* starting in the industrial age from a very good position.
* ending up without any external thread, for like 100 years allowed internal flaws to grow out of control

@nprofile…0kgd @nprofile…ph0f it's kind of a two factor system because criminals would need both, your Database and your password.
For very sensitive stuff you can setup a reminder to change the password regularly. So even if someone gets your Database and brut forces it somehow... The passwords would likely not be used anymore.
There is even the option to setup a real two factor authentication (so kind of a third factor 😅) but for now I don't feel like I need this CAI level of security.

@nprofile…ctn8 this is something I will never be able to understand. How can someone draw things like this... By hand?! Maybe I have a rough idea about how I could write shader code to simulate some parts of it... But drawing it by hand seams so impossible for me 😅

@nprofile…7fj5 not directly related but I discovered the #makingOfKarateka an incredible remaster/remake collection of the classic game Karateka.
This collection holds not only the game in various versions and a full remake, it also gives a full insight into the background of @nprofile…d2km and his journey of making this game, including several behind the scenes production artworks and even playable prototypes.
That's how a remaster should be.

@nprofile…g4yp I think it's cool that many alternatives exist.
But I still don't get the use case of delta chat and unsure if using email as the underlying transport mechanism is really such a good idea on the long run.
So I actually prefer matrix, but since both approaches are decentralized I think it shouldn't be a problem to build bridges between. Therefore no reason for anyone not to use delta chat. 🤗

Most of the time it's measured in numbers of publications... Which actually doesn't tell much about the quality.
I would even argue, this is hurting the credibility of science as a whole, because there is a pressure to just publish as much as possible.

Slowly moving forward and I feel like this is something to show for today's #screenshotsaturday
I more or less completely rewrote the water shader by now. Not sure about the wave tops. What do you think? I definitely try to go for a more cartoonish style.

What would "effect display width" mean. What would the 0.1 mean? My understanding was that the bone would stop growing in width if it's length is so big that width would be over 0.1m (in world space). So if you zoom out, it's just a thin line but if you zoom in it appears thicker.
And I think that would be very unpleasant if you work with a big object because all bones would be maximum 0.1m thin by default and very hard to select.

@nprofile…gvnm @nprofile…dx4q I think selection is a big point. If the bone is very long it is most likely because it is in a big amature, so user will have a far zoomed out view. Limiting the maximum width to a fix distance will probably never work for all use cases.
Why not make the ratio of length to width editable?
But maybe this is over engineering something without a real life problem, since most professional rigs will have custom control shapes anyway.
