I did get quite a few. I was on leave last week and visited 8 different nature reserves. Still slowly processing through 1800 photos!
I might do some mini threads on the pictures from each visit

it’s great when they cooperate and fly close to a hide 😄. I was at Minsmere on Sunday and a Kestrel did the same thing. Hovering about 40m away and hunting through the reeds on several passes.

wow what a shot. That alignment on the wings so the underside is all in shadow but a bright head!

good spot, it is indeed. The neighbours tree is quite large, usually 6 or 7 of them stop in for berries while there’s a pigeon nesting the middle of it. Oh and Blue Tits in a box on the trunk! It’s a very busy tree.

I finally managed to get a clearer photo of one of the little flock of Goldfinch that zip about the fruit and berry trees around my garden. I love listening to them when they are about.

I see what you mean about Robins everywhere. I’ve had this past week on leave and visited a bunch of reserves. So many of them flitting about and singing away!

great shots! There are I think 6 of them living in the neighbours apple trees at the end of my garden but they do not stay still enough to get photos of!

I get what you’re saying but I am still making some basic mistakes here or there. Like just side step a touch to manoeuvre a branch out of the way a bit or get a little lower etc.

Thanks. I have been out in the garden every evening after work getting used to it more.
I was really happy with detail in the Greenfinch photos I posted. I just need to get better at composition.

good spot, it was the middle of the afternoon by the time I got there and baking hot on a clear day so not ideal conditions at all!
I think we got a bit over excited to try out the new kit so just went for it down there to see what we could see.

I managed to get some photos of a Greenfinch on my feeders during the week.
It wasn't the best perspective as I was down low getting shots of a Robin but they aren't too bad.
