TIL there's a new EU paid search engine that wants to rival #Kagi which is great because.... there are various reasons why I'm no longer that happy about Kagi but have yet to see their feature set (even within the search product itself) be matched by any other paid/not-paid search provider.

Another #FOSDEM is wrapped, Year 2 as staff and clearly went better than the first year. (across the whole team tbf, massive difference, good vibes all around)
Last year I honestly was so stressed sometimes for various reasons that I just froze at times. That essentially didn't happen this time!
I was able to identify about 200+ things (some small things tbf) that we can improve for next year.

Technically it's just the website but shown within the app which I'm not sure if they're planning on changing that tbf but yeah. Because it's at least in the app in that way, text to translate using the regular Android share menu

I forgot to post it here, but I found it really cool how #Nextcloud during their Hub 10 announcement livestream actively pointed out that they spend most of their time on fixing bugs and improving stability.

I recently bought this #vegan mayo (cause why not) just to try it. But something interesting happened, which is that when the regular mayo in our fridge ran out, my parents and grandpa just switched to using this jar (cause it was open and in the fridge).... and they actually like it (as in: fine mayo replacement)

Switched to @nprofile…4fxs and I'm so glad I did. The results are better and I've actually saves me time by giving me the actual f****** results I want instead of AI summary b******* and just in general s*** results ordering.
Kagi can do ai summary stuff... But by default it doesn't do that. Only if you add a question mark at the end of your query will it actually do that... Which is perfect cause I only want that like 1/20th of the time

OH WOW huh.
I have #KDE Connect installed, which links your phone and Linux PC for controlling media, etc.
I also have a Firefox addon that gives KDE Connect more info about my browser activities.
But what I just realized this morning is pretty freaking cool:
When you're watching a video in Firefox, you can pause/resume it from the KDE Connect app. Plus, clicking the notification opens the same YouTube video on your phone... cool!

I've had it up to here with #josm using garbage AI furry image stuff for their homescreen. (this is coming from a furry myself btw)

I switched to Zen at the start of the year and I'm not going back.
Vertical tabs is one thing. But the whole 'essential' tabs and workspaces system in zen is what's keeping me. My life consists of many aspects. Personal, openstreetmap, fosdem (staff) stuff, work (pharmacy), work (kagi), homelab/server stuff.
