Since I like both biking and gaming I also like to join them both into games dedicated to outdoor usage. Saves time and effort :-) - Turfgame.com is one of them.

I program mostly in PHP and SQL now but started out with 68k assembler on an Atari. Now and then I try something in Javascript but it just does not compute with my brain :-)

Not even ten years ago I would have stared at you wondering what sort of elite biker you are but now I do small trips for fun every day. 25 km is minimum during winter, summer is more like 35-50 km. With an old, heavy trecking bike. During vacation I do 150-200 km in slow pace starting around noon and going through the night until I get tired and take the train back home after about 15-24 hours. Ten years ago I had trouble walking two staircases in a row and had to rest the knees for a couple of days until I could walk again. Maybe it is true what parents and teachers said when I was young. Moving is important.

When the items are too big to use a matchbox as size comparison, you can always use a laptop instead. 🙂
Impressive, is that stone with a hole in it? How old is it and if very old, how did they make such a nice round hole in something hard enough to be used as an axe?

Mamma har virkat grytlappar åt oss för länge sen. Hon säger att om man använder bra garn så är det bara att tvätta dem i 90 grader så de krymper, då blir det ännu tätare 🙂
Tror hon gjorde våra med pärlgarnsrester, de är riktigt stadiga och fina.
Borde börja med virkning, har blivit så klumsig med fingrarna. Tangentbord och cykling är nog inte tillräckligt för att träna händerna... Tack för tipset 🙂

I never really understood why I need to buy something just so I can throw away the old. I'm still using my 40+ year old desk lamp, it works just fine with a LED-bulb. I might have to change the button soon but at least it's an option, not like the new ones where if something breaks I have to throw the whole thing. For example the new LED desk lamp we bought 10 years ago has lost at least 50% of the brightness and there is no way of changing the LED.

So what's this about a stone axe database? New database engine or actual stone axes? 🙂 I'm working on a turfgame.com alternative database for my own score keeping for the outdoor game. It's growing out of control so need to start trimming data... 36 GB atm.

It's interesting how this can be such a big problem in higher educated work, even in academia. The sadest part is that even the females that have been hit with it tells others, this is the way it is, deal with it. What is it with humanity and empathy?
Sometimes I think this works better in lower educated work where I have spent most of my time. But when I look at todays society that is also getting worse.

Interesting, train has to be pretty slow then :-)
Here we have places that only gets a bus when you call a number that you find in the time table. Or a button you press that lights up a light at the big road so the busdriver knows he should pull off the highway and go past the busstop.
Some official roads are really a ferry that is located at the main land trafficing an island. When you want pickup offseason, you might need to call from the island for pickup. (Sweden)
