90% of "designers" don't deserve the title, they're incompetent people who push regressive ideas like "let's make scrollbars invisible" and "let's make everything grey-on-white and hide and obscure the boundaries between interactive objects and whitespace" and other stupid 'cool looking' (but actually ugly) ideas that kill usability. #gnome is a prime example of this idiocy

I just joined mastodon. I'd like to introduce myself. I started out programming on an 8bit home micro back in the day, I know a few programming languages, I've been using #Linux for two decades, #gnome sucks, and computing used to be a fun hobby until software degraded to the point where you need minimum 8GB memory and 4 cores and gigaghertz of computing power just to comfortably write a text message
