They claimed the song was originally about pulling yourself up by your bootstraps, sarcastically. But people took it sexually, and they leaned into it, as they desperately needed a hit, and hadn't had one yet. This song is from their third album.
I listened to some other early Devo stuff, and it's pretty rough. They were certainly trying to be counter-culture at the time.

It's disingenuous to say Trump was a life-long Democrat. While I do agree that his policies would align more with a Democrat from the 90s than a modern Republican, I think it's more likely he was just taking the opposite party from the incumbent.

Yes, it was already set that way. That's open how I see interesting things, when other people reply, or boost.

For me, I think the mask-off moment with Adam Curry was when he talked about putting a wind turbine on his property in Texas.
This is from off the top of my head, from more than a year ago, but as I remember it:
The cost was somewhere in the $200K+ range for the turbine. Which was too high, understandably.
But I was left feeling that if the cost had been more in the $50K-$100K range, he would have done it.
Which is still crazy to a broke pleb like me.

My wife's family likes to make this pie for the holidays, which their Grandmother made.
It never comes out quite right. There's always a little something off.
The wife and I did some research on similar pies, and found the recipe was lacking an ingredient crucial for the chemical reaction to occur.
So we fixed the recipe and now we are the only ones who can make it come out good.
Grandma's old recipe was just some shit she came up with one day in the 60s when she was missing ingredients.

I have trained myself to always shake people's hands with my index finger raised as shown in the photo.

Podcast Addict is also the only app on my phone that will let me stream a video from a URL, and then lock the phone and put it in my pocket while it plays. Other apps, like MPV, won't play in the background.
I guess the real downside is that it is not open source. I wanted to go that way, especially for an app that requires internet access.

I really like Podcast Addict.
I don't like that they are pushing Mainstream crap now, but only when you add new podcasts. Of course they suggest NPR, etc. But I expect they almost all do that.
I paid their one time fee to have it ad free, totally worth it.
Podcast Addict also lets you easily add radio stations, and such.
