I'm gonna have to try that out... you know what I really miss? An open web standard from cross device sync. Every major browser seems to have it's own... if we could externalize that, half the pain of transitioning to a new browser would be gone for me.

I see most of the replies here going into the NOSTR, but I am on the side of the fence that prefers if we build the cross-app comments on top of the socialInteract tag with ActivityPub.
To show how that works, I contributed to podcastindex.org in the past so people can see how it works there.

what I meant was not fosstodon "vs" bne.social, but rather Mastodon "vs" Pixelfed. If I say Mastodon, most people that know the fediverse will have a pretty good idea of what it is in terms of UX and type of content that is shared. Same for Pixelfed (microblogging vs pictures).

talking about #fediverse and #podcast s, have you seen/tried https://neodb.net/? It is a fedi service for rating, user lists and commenting. It supports podcasts. The tests I did so far are not great, but it looks promising. I want to join their community to talk about use cases for podcasting.

I feel divided on using the fediverse symbol vs the instance symbol. I want to promote the fediverse as a whole, but on the other hand, I also want the user to know where the account is with ease. Additionally, If my site/content has accounts in more then on fedi service (e.g. #Mastodon and #Pixelfed), how would you do it?
