I mistakenly had a quick - like, 2 minute - look when I was answering the "where are you?" messages the other day, and it was enough to pretty much undo 10 days of being offline, which is a pretty savage indictment of the level of latent trauma we're all carrying from the non-stop horror.
I think a little laundry is a small price to pay for a perennial excuse both for trips to Glasgow and meals at one of its many fine eateries! You can never go to the Botanics or the Kelvingrove too many times, imo 😄

I had an unscheduled long weekend in Chelts sans laptop and decided to stay afk for a while, but then l kept getting "omg are you dead?" messages :blobcatgiggle: I'm definitely staying offline as much as possible while the sun's out, and I've got a lot of trips coming up, so I'll only be here sporadically until the end of September.

They made it as far as the washing line (about 30 centimetres from the tree), tried to grab the line with their claws, failed, almost got spun round on it in the wind, then tried (and failed) to style it out on their way to the ground. Truly spectacular fail.

The magpie family who are currently residing in my willow tree were all sitting together very photogenically on a couple of branches, but by the time I got to the window, of course they'd all buggered off (the younglings waddled behind some leaves, after one of them had an extremely hilarious first attempt at flying this morning).

@nprofile…zp6v Oh, the grandparents only visited the houseboat with us, but we went up there in school hols all the time, and yes, we LOVED it!
Very much did NOT love the small museums. I remember being in the car on the way to one such establishment and driving past a cinema that was showing Return of the Jedi - so I would have been 10 and my brother 8 - and we basically SCREAMED the place down until we were allowed to go and see it instead of visit whatever dusty old pile we were being taken to 😂

My grandparents had a houseboat on Oulton Broad, but we went all over the coast and got dragged to every regional museum you can possibly imagine 😬

Oh, gross. I totally missed this story but I've used Unbound in the past, and used to listen to the associated podcast, Backlisted.

@nprofile…zp6v Oh that's fab! Was it their uni of choice? I still remember the anxiety of interviews and waiting for acceptance letters. The only thing worse was my Viva - most accurately described as like sitting in front of an academic firing squad 😂

@nprofile…zp6v I put out a couple of scoops of dried mealworms yesterday while I was training the clematis, and mama flew straight in and parked herself right in the middle of the feeder so no one else could get to them, the cheeky mare 😂
