I don't have encrypted / as I don't really need it at home.and I have a separate /boot. The problem comes more from how grub is installed and run from different distros. Grub handles Windows through os-prober quite well but finding and adding entries for another distro doesn't seem as easy. I could never have os-prober find the Arch installation.

They seem geared to get the worst out of people, most of the time.

I'm segregated the /boot now. I need to do it anyway as it is too small. I will try to load the grub.cfg from the a menu entry to get the Arch distro to boot.
Sharing /boot didn't work because os-prober is blind to the Arch install for some reason.

Fully agree. Snowboarding is also what got me over the fence wearing diapers. I spent so much time with my butt in the snow that it made learning snowboarding a lot more comfy as well.

Each time I tried to get even basic stuff done, the output was bad. It seems that the later iterations actually produce even more hallucinations.
I can't wait for LLMs to train on their own shit and degenerate. Companies have vacuumed all the text humans ever produced so their are let with what AI can produce now *gets popcorn and sits to watch*

The scary part is that the 'algorithm' also controls and decides what you can or can't see. By convenience, we allow AI to make us lazy. When enough people will have relinquished enough power (and skills), we will be dependent and easier to manipulate.

The blower is positioned in the lid and the bottom part is a grill plate with a heating element. You get a basket that sits on top of it for air frying.

I went for the Ninja grill / air fryer combo last year and I get o much use out of it. I was also a kit skeptical initially as on paper an air fryer is an oven but I have been pleasantly surprised. That device doubles as an indoor barbecue in winter. The plancha is also great for home made burger!

I haven't tried Signal due to requiring a phone as Telegram and not having a strong use for IM. I am on Telegram mostly for the group chats / channels.And for private IMs, I use encrypted XMPP. Matrix looks interesting but I'm not sure it is solving a problem for me for now.

I would expect light switches to not have neutral. They should sit on the phase line before the light if I'm not mistaken. I don't think they are required to also cut the neutral here (and that would not work for 2-way setups)..

When drawing those lines, nothing makes absolute sense. Some things end up on one side, some on the other side and a bunch are ambiguous. Based on personal sensitivities, it's either going to be too much or too little so I would not overthink it.

There are some days that feel lonelier than others. I have a few great friends but they are not close by. I'd love to have a few more people I can friends but the net is both making it easy to connect with more people and yet harder to build a friendship which means mutual interest, sharing, investing time and emotion.
Am I alone in this? If not, how do you approach this?

I wish Mastodon would have allow to separate followers / watchers from friends. I understand that one wants to follow the posts from someone else but you might not want to share more intimate stuff with people you don't know.
That would also make it easier to distinguish between people that engage with you and those who don't.

It feels a bit like the Linux elitist discourse. Even if I don't like the herd instinct and a bit of lazyness when it comes to adapting, looking down on people for their choices doesn't make anyone better off.
The real question is what could the Fediverse learn / do that is not an AI algorithm to improve discoverability?
Maybe I'm wrong but I feel what people liked about Twitter / BSky is also ultimately the root of all the evil it did at the end.

There are not that many ways for a social media company to make money (not even talking about profits). All of them require control of data and/or what users see. With that in mind, I hardly see how BSky can avoid enshitification. Right now, I think they are acquiring the audience to be monetized later.
