5 years ago on this date a friend of mine showed me this video and introduced me to #bitcoin
I was blown away and decided to learn more about this thing. @nprofile…saz4 and @nprofile…4c3e was essential to my first months and years on this adventure. Later @nprofile…ncd3 became my weekly update, and then @nprofile…spkk wrote that great book, and I went to Oslo and heard @nprofile…wg7d speak, and there still more to learn.
I’ve been here through some bears and bulls, I’ve been humbled more than once and learned to stay humble and stack sats.
Status after five years:
- all in bitcoin
- node runner
- mine BTC for heat
- keep most of my bitcoin in cold storage
- Nostr only
- have improved my health and work out regularly

Winter is here, new heat mining setup: S19 K Pro providing 120TH/s. Unfortunately not on Braiins OS yet, Bitmain has locked the amlogic Control Board from aftermarket firmware installation.
Noise is not an issue, the miner is only running when we’re not here. The main purpose is to keep our mountain cabin above 10C during winter season.

Integrated video compression. I want to upload my videos directly from my iPhone without having to compress it / change format first. You guys can decide what size and format the file should be to work best on nostr, I should not have to care. I work as producer and singer in a vocal ensemble, and this is a recording of Våren by Edvard Grieg, arranged for 16 voices. Recorded at our latest concert in Stavanger Concert hall.
My ensemble is called Valen Vokalensemble (8 singers), and we did this concert in cooperation with Edvard Grieg Vokalensemble from Bergen (also 8 singers).
In former years of my career I also used to play keys in a band, I might dig up some history in a later note.
After retiring from pop music in 2017, my main focus has been classical music and for the last five years, to build a professional vocal ensemble in hometown.

Sorry for being blunt, I’m just a Scandinavian who probably trust our democracy too much. It’s not perfect, but it’s not that bad either. High taxes, but also high quality of the public services. For me freedom of speech and religion, and very low corruption, are most important. And I’m happy we don’t have a two party system …
I hope violence is the last resort, and that you guys somehow can fix your country.

An Ukrainian colleague of mine reached out to me, asking how this «crypto-thing» works. She has sold her father’s apartment in Kiev, and the only way to get the money out of the country is to travel there (several times) and bring home the settlement (USD) in cash. The banking system is broken, they can’t be trusted.
After a quick chat, she now has downloaded a bitcoin wallet on her phone. Dollars will be exchanged to bitcoin locally in Kiev, and transferred to her in Norway.
